Chapter 20: Cuckold Slave 20 (3)

At the front table, the deputy head smiled as she held a glass, clearly satisfied with the new project that was on track.

Qi Sui looked around for a while, confirming that Xiang Yu wasn't there, and Selina wasn't there either.

She didn't care whether Xiang Yu came or not, but she had specifically asked Selina. Sister S said she never participated in these kinds of team-building events, and besides, as someone from headquarters, it wasn't appropriate for her to mix with the subsidiary.

Qi Sui relaxed and breathed a sigh of relief.

Selina, on the other hand, interrogated her with a smile. "What? Are you that happy that Xiao Yu and I aren't going?"

"Xiao Yu?" Qi Sui asked back.

Selina let out a sophisticated laugh. "LEO. It's his grandmother's pet name for him. His family all call him that."

Qi Sui seemed to see rolling wheels rushing toward her again, carrying a peacock in beautiful clothes, using every trick to make his shocking ideas come true one by one.

She quickly shook the words "his family" out of her head, and also "Xiao Yu" along with it. As long as she didn't know, Xiang Yu wouldn't have a chance to take advantage.

While she was daydreaming, the deputy head had finished saying everything she needed to say, including but not limited to prospects for the future, affirmation of the present, and reflection on the past. Qi Sui heard none of it.

She only heard the deputy head's last sentence:

"General Manager Xiang will arrive soon. Behave yourselves in front of him."

Didn't he say he wasn't coming?

Qi Sui buried her head in eating.

She didn't know anyone at this table. They were all chatting among themselves. Qi Sui ate and listened.

"I heard that the headquarters is also surnamed Xiang. Is that true?"

"Who told you that? It's not that exaggerated."

"Then, that new S—Selina, Chen Jialin, isn't she our company's legal representative?"

"She and General Manager Xiang are cousins, right?"

"Even such a strong connection gets exiled?"

"It's not exile; it's accumulating experience."

"Is General Manager Xiang married?"

"He shouldn't be. I heard he doesn't even have a girlfriend."

"Could he have some hidden defect?"

"I heard from them that General Manager Xiang was in poor health before and stayed in the hospital for a year. He only recently recovered."

Qi Sui thought to herself: He's not much better now.

"Ah? But General Manager Xiang is really handsome and rich."

"Rich? Doesn't he just drive a Lexus?"

"'Just'? Can you afford one? He lives in a big apartment in the city center, has a driver pick him up for work, and that tie he wore a couple of days ago cost a month of my salary."

Silence fell over the dinner table.

Someone said, "Would it kill the world to have one more rich person like me?"

Qi Sui wholeheartedly agreed.

After dinner, it was time to move to the next venue.

Qi Sui had notified Qian Jin that his passport and other documents were placed directly in the security room at the entrance of her neighborhood. He could get them from the security guard.

Now she was sitting in a corner of the tea house, holding her phone and lazily browsing recruitment platforms.

She wasn't in a hurry to find a new job, so she wanted to find a suitable one that matched her specialty.

Everyone around her was chatting happily, leaving her alone in the corner, which made her stand out.

The deputy head of the International Department came over and patted her shoulder. "Xiao Qi, General Manager Xiang has arrived. Come with me to pick him up?"

Qi Sui looked up, resigned, and stood up.

As they walked, the deputy head asked with a smile, "I heard your department has a transfer quota. Have you thought about coming to the International Department?"

Qi Sui hesitated, then said softly, "Mm. My supervisor mentioned it to me, but I think Engineer Song would be more suitable."

"Well, think it over." She didn't say more.

At the entrance of the tea house, a man in a trench coat was standing at the front desk, talking to the server.

He looked travel-worn, as if he had just returned from a business trip elsewhere.

The deputy head instructed Qi Sui, "General Manager Xiang probably just got off the plane. Wait here for me."

Qi Sui stood still, watching the man turn around. His gaze fell on her and lit up noticeably, then he lowered his eyelids and exchanged words with the deputy head.

At this moment, he wasn't so flashy. He was simply

wearing a light brown trench coat, the hem slightly damp. Qi Sui looked outside and saw a fine drizzle.

"Didn't you say you weren't coming?" Qi Sui's tone was neither good nor bad.

The deputy head turned and went into the tea house to bring out some tea snacks. The two of them sat in a small room near the entrance.
