Chapter 5: Cuckold Slave 5 (2)

"Next, Ms. Selina will speak."

He opened his palm, gesturing invitingly toward the woman next to Qi Sui.

Selina nodded, went up to the stage, and then displayed a professionalism no less than LEO's.

"Selina will be in charge of the entire project review. She is an inspector sent by headquarters. After the project is completed, she will send it back to headquarters for implementation," LEO explained in Qi Sui's ear.

He then said, "Later, you can go up and share your questions too."

"Ah, me?" Qi Sui pointed at herself, hesitating. "My questions aren't worth mentioning... Besides, I'm not from the international department."

LEO crossed his arms and flatly denied, "I don't think they're worthless. At least some of the problems you raised did make me think. Since you brought them up, everyone in this project needs to consider your perspective. If we can't solve these problems, we won't be able to convince any user of these products."

"Or do you not trust me?"

He turned his head. His eyes were sincere, the curve of his lower eyelids rounded and the corners slightly raised, giving the impression that he seemed to smile at all times.

But his eyes were cold, seemingly empty. It was the contrast—a face with a distant look but laughing eyes—that was striking.

"No, it's not..." Qi Sui pursed her lips. "I understand."

LEO said calmly, nodding casually. His tie had been removed at some point, and the collapsed collar of his shirt was no longer stiff but exuded the man's obvious arrogance.

The fitted suit jacket was buttoned to the top. In the entire venue, only Qi Sui knew what was underneath. The brown patterned vest clearly outlined his figure, an inverted cone shape that was quite standard, even exceeding the typical aesthetic standard.

Ah, what was she thinking again?

Qi Sui turned her head and pinched herself hard, as if to whip herself.

But she missed the man's gaze falling on the slightly less shiny diamond ring on her finger. He paused briefly, then quickly looked away.

"I hope everyone will cooperate closely and finish as soon as possible," the woman on stage said, her face smiling but not looking easy to talk to.

They spoke one by one in order. Selina sat down, glanced sideways at LEO, and asked, "How long will this project take?"

LEO looked thoughtful. "About a month."

"Too slow," Selina expressed dissatisfaction.

LEO snorted. "Sister, you can't expect a subsidiary's processing efficiency."

Selina: "You complain so much, why did you ask to come here?"

LEO: "No, just stating the facts." He ended the conversation.

Selina's dark eyes studied Qi Sui. A smile spread across her face. She extended her hand. "Hello, Chen Jialin. You can call me Selina or Sister S. From now on, you'll work with me?"

"Ah?" Qi Sui hurriedly extended her hand, looking a bit flustered. She glanced at LEO before shaking the woman's hand. "Qi Sui—Sister S, you can call me Xiao Qi."

The wedding ring sparkled on her hand. Sister S glanced at it, then looked away with interest.

LEO: "Qi Sui, from now on, you'll work with Sister S and coordinate with the international department. I'll have your supervisor transfer your files later."

Qi Sui stammered, "Okay, yes."

What was this?

Had she boarded a pirate ship?

Probably not.

At this moment, Qi Sui actually felt a little pleasantly surprised.

It was just an ordinary document. She didn't think her abilities were impressive enough to make LEO think highly of her.

But—

She was a little happy.

She wasn't worthless, nor was she as Qian Jin had said...

"Sui Sui, I think it's better if you don't go out to work. You're not going to accomplish anything."

When it was Qi Sui's turn to go up, she took a deep breath and forced herself to walk up calmly.

Only when she actually stood there did she realize how admirable LEO and Sister S's calmness was. A large crowd of eyes stared at you, and no matter what, you couldn't think of them as dull cabbages.

Sister S watched the flustered woman on the stage and smiled. "She's a lot like I used to be."

LEO flatly retorted, "You were like that before? I don't think so."

Sister S: "How do you talk to your elder, Xiao Yu?" Her tone was threatening.

LEO coughed hastily. "Don't call me that at the company."

She changed the topic. "Allergies not better yet?"

"Almost."

Sister S clicked her tongue. "You're recovering faster than before."

LEO hummed in agreement and didn't reply.

He touched his throat, which felt much more comfortable now. He swallowed gently and only felt a slight dull pain.

He thought of the cough spray he had thrown into the drawer, and then of the pair of beautiful, delicate yet pale women's hands in his half-closed field of vision. It seemed impossible to forget. The subtle feeling made him uncomfortably support his chin and gaze at the woman on stage. Her presentation, though nervous, was clearly organized.

"Not bad," Sister S concluded.
