Chapter 13: Jinbao: Are You Treating the Showcase Like a Warehouse?

Jiang Yuntan's movements were quick and decisive as she stuffed things into her space.

Shen Hegui and Xue Zhao guarded her, taking down zombies that lunged at them. There were only a few of them, and the supermarket was huge; it was impossible to clear out all the zombies before collecting supplies. Besides, there was so much here that they couldn't possibly take it all.

Initially, they expected Jiang Yuntan to dawdle. But in less than three minutes, she urged them, "Let's go, let's go. What else do we need to collect? Let's move to the next area."

Shen Hegui glanced at the supermarket layout. "Follow me. Xue Zhao, cover the rear." He led the way, killing a zombie with each swing of his blade.

Jiang Yuntan gripped her iron rod for self-defense.

When they reached the chocolate aisle, Shen Hegui said, "Take half of these. Leave room for other stuff."

Jiang Yuntan nodded, understanding his intention, and quickly packed them into her space. Shen Hegui pulled a shopping cart from somewhere and filled a third of it with chocolates.

Working in sync, they stashed plenty of instant noodles, self-heating pots, milk, yogurt, bottled water, and all the jerky on the shelves. Finally, they loaded twenty bags of ten-kilogram premium Wuchang rice into her space.

Along the way, Jiang Yuntan also grabbed snacks she spotted—spicy strips, potato chips, preserved fruits, coffee—whatever she could get her hands on. She even grabbed lighters and sanitary pads.

Shen Hegui wasn't surprised she took non-filling items. She wasn't the type to deprive herself, and besides, it was her space; she could put whatever she wanted. They could carry their own stuff; the space was just a last resort for the team.

After all that, her space had only three cubic meters left.

Just then, Jiang Yuntan noticed a small door. In her other life, she'd seen staff moving goods from such doors. She called out, "Wait a moment."

Shen Hegui dispatched a zombie and turned back. "What's wrong?"

"There should be a warehouse here. I want to check it out," she said.

Shen Hegui estimated she didn't have much space left. "What are you looking for that you can't find out here?"

"I just want to see," Jiang Yuntan insisted.

Shen Hegui sighed inwardly. "You have ten minutes."

"Okay." Jiang Yuntan nodded.

He gestured for her to step aside and pushed open the warehouse door. As it opened, a zombie lunged at them. Shen Hegui cut it down in one move, but then out of the corner of his eye, he saw another zombie rushing at Jiang Yuntan. His heart leaped into his throat. The last time they'd brought her out, she'd been a hindrance, only waiting to be rescued. Although she'd killed zombies at the entrance, his impression hadn't changed yet.

Xue Zhao was watching the warehouse entrance, so she had to fend for herself.

Jiang Yuntan noticed the zombie, dodged to its side, and whacked its neck twice. The zombie crashed to the ground.

Shen Hegui's eyes flickered with curiosity. "You didn't just awaken a spatial ability? Your speed seems much faster than before."

"Maybe? I thought it came with the ability," Jiang Yuntan said casually.

More zombies approached, leaving no time for chitchat. After they took down three more, no zombies appeared.

Shen Hegui said, "Ten minutes. Grab what you want."

"Okay." Jiang Yuntan dashed to rows of boxes. She tried to see if she could put a box into the system's showcase. She could! Her eyes lit up.

She touched the boxes from the third row back, storing them all until she hit the 999-item limit. Then she went to the front and symbolically stored one box in her space, just for show in front of Shen Hegui.

The warehouse was large, with partitioned sections. She left the first two rows untouched, so from the outside, no one would know the back rows were empty. Thanks to the neatly stacked boxes.

Using the same trick, she filled four more showcases to the 999 limit, boxes of various sizes.

Just then, Jinbao suddenly appeared.

[Ahhh! What did you do?! Why am I getting system malfunction notifications?]

Jiang Yuntan said innocently, "I didn't do anything. I just listed some items."

Jinbao looked and shouted even louder.

[Look at all the random stuff you put in! What's in those boxes?]

[Are you treating the showcase like a warehouse? The system can't calculate all those different items!]

Jiang Yuntan replied smoothly, "But the system accepted them, so there's no problem, right? You can set an average price."

"Your multiverse system is all-powerful; you must know about blind boxes. The buyers can't see what's inside—isn't that exciting? You can label it as a blind box in the description. Maybe someone will be interested?" she suggested helpfully.

She wasn't about to take them out now.

Jinbao: ...

After a moment, it said, [I'll go ask the main system.]

Meanwhile, Shen Hegui was calling her.

Jiang Yuntan hurried over. Seeing how much she'd packed, he asked, "Not much space left, right?"

"About two cubic meters," she admitted, knowing his temper. "I also want to grab some clothes, gold, and jade jewelry."

"Jewelry?" he asked, puzzled.

"Yes," she affirmed. "You heard right."

Shen Hegui: ...

He resolved to get this troublesome girl back to Jing City as soon as possible and let the old man deal with her.

Taking a deep breath, he said, "Let's get the stuff downstairs first."

They regrouped with Xue Zhao, who was joined by Yu Ke and the others. All six of them pushed shopping carts down the escalator. At the bottom, they met Lin Xuan and his group with their carts.
