He looked at the empty, silent house and let out a breath.
He took off his shoes, went to the bathroom to freshen up, and then headed straight to the study. Flicking on the small desk lamp, its warm yellow light spread softly across the entire walnut-colored table.
He opened his computer and clicked on a document sent earlier by a lawyer friend. After downloading and opening it, his hand froze on the mouse when he saw the words "Divorce Agreement." He hesitated for a moment, then slowly scrolled through the document, making a few modifications here and there before sending his edits back to the lawyer.
