Chapter 21

You Like Thrills

In the private room of the restaurant, only the two of them were left. Song Guanyu couldn't conveniently eat with that group of people. After some maneuvering, she finally got rid of those gossiping people. As he was leaving, Zhou Shanli suddenly said something to Ye Yansheng as he passed by.

He mouthed the words, but Ye Yansheng understood.

He said, "I was looking for you last night and happened to see you in the hotel corridor."

Ye Yansheng paused and looked at Zhou Shanli, raising an eyebrow. He saw the unbridled teasing in Zhou Shanli's eyes. Ye Yansheng smiled helplessly, said nothing, and left with Song Guanyu.

Ye Yansheng propped his chin on one hand and tilted his head slightly, watching Song Guanyu as she ate. In front of her were doughnuts, ice cream puffs, bubble tea, and some Chinese dishes.

Eating foreign food occasionally was a novelty, but they had Chinese stomachs and preferred Chinese cuisine.

He noticed that Song Guanyu loved sweets. There was a bit of white cream from the puff on the corner of her mouth. He reminded her, "Xiaodai."

Song Guanyu was enjoying her pre-meal dessert. Interrupted, she looked up blankly. "What is it?"

Ye Yansheng pointed to the corner of his mouth. "Wipe the cream off the corner of your mouth."

Song Guanyu licked it off with her tongue right in front of him, making Ye Yansheng's eyes darken, then he let out a laugh.

"Okay." Then she lowered her head and continued eating her little puffs. When she bit into a puff, the cream filling was squeezed out, covering her mouth and even the tip of her nose.

He sat across from her, quietly watching, thinking the more he looked, the more she resembled Xiaobao. But Xiaobao was a little kid, and Song Guanyu was a big kid. The sound of her calling him "Little Ye Cousin" still echoed in his mind.

And "Little Cousin Song"... that was something only she could come up with.

But seeing her dressed like this for the first time really made it seem real.

Watching her eat was truly appetizing. A wave of happiness washed over him, making warm currents surge through his heart, penetrating bones and blood, reaching his very core.

Song Guanyu had already taken off her mask and sunglasses. Her soft, waterfall-like thick black curls lay lazily on her shoulders and chest. The strands on her chest swayed with her movements, and if she wasn't careful, they might get stained with oil. Ye Yansheng noticed, stood up, and quietly walked over to her, brushing the excess hair behind her.

His fingertips grazed the skin behind Song Guanyu's ear, sending a tingle through her. She shuddered, turned her head, and smiled at Ye Yansheng. "Little Ye Cousin, I'm eating. If you really want to kiss me, wait until I'm done."

"..."

"Eat properly. I won't kiss you." After they returned to the hotel tonight, he could kiss her however he wanted. There was no rush.

Ye Yansheng forcefully turned her face back, but his heart was pounding. He was almost getting triggered by her calling him "cousin." The verbal address was ridiculous, but... there was a strange sense of pleasure.

He coughed lightly, took a black hair tie from his wrist, gathered all her hair in his palm, and tied it up. After finishing, he lowered his eyes and carefully studied the round back of her head. It was indeed very round. They say a round head means a smart person, but Song Guanyu always seemed silly and dazed in front of him.

The low bun rested quietly, with the ends of her hair lightly brushing her slender waist. Under the clothes, the skin still bore the sensation of his palm covering it completely last night.

The warmth beneath his palm made his blood boil.

Her waist was very sensitive. Whenever he touched it, she would let out a sound like a kitten's mew.

He lowered his eyes slightly, his expression calm, and looked away.

Instead of returning to his seat opposite her, he sat down next to Song Guanyu, gazing at her with a very gentle look. He waited until she finished eating, then took a napkin and wiped her mouth. "Full?"

"Thank you, Little Ye Cousin, for treating me. I'm full." She even burped.

Ye Yansheng burst out laughing and muttered softly, "Truly Zhuzhu."

"What did you say?" The little kitten was about to bristle.

"Nothing. I'm just saying, stop calling me Little Ye Cousin. I don't have a younger female cousin." He straightened up and smiled at her.

He couldn't help but reach out and pinch her cheeks, squeezing them. They felt like sticky rice dumplings.

"Dr. Ye, don't you think this form of address is thrilling?"

Hearing this, Ye Yansheng's eyes deepened. "I have something even more thrilling than that."

"What?" She had that eager-to-learn look again.

"Do you like thrills?" he asked.

Song Guanyu didn't think there was anything wrong with the question. She was a musician and loved things that made her adrenaline spike—like pursuing thrills, especially heavy metal music, which gave her even more feeling.

So when Ye Yansheng asked, she replied, "Of course! I love them!"

He looked away, his voice growing deeper. "I'll tell you when we get back to the hotel tonight." In the space Song Guanyu couldn't see, Ye Yansheng's eyes were unfathomable.

Song Guanyu didn't notice anything unusual. She nodded, then after eating and drinking her fill, she suddenly remembered to ask about the hair tie.

Pretending to be casual: "Where did you get the hair tie?"

Ye Yansheng calmed the surging emotions inside him, stood up, smiled at her, and deliberately teased her: "When I was tying a girl's hair, she asked me to keep it."

The sunlight suddenly grew strong. Song Guanyu felt that his smile outshone the brilliant sunshine at that moment. She squinted her eyes, rolled them a little, then looked up at him triumphantly. "It's Xiaobao's."

Her expression said, "You can't fool me."

His smile deepened, and she knew she was right. She let out a soft "Hmph."

Murmuring, "I don't get jealous over everything."

Suddenly, her hand was pulled by Ye Yansheng, their fingers interlaced. His big hand held hers tightly as he said softly, "I have no meetings this afternoon. I'll do whatever you want. It's also a good time for you to walk off your meal."

After all, she had eaten quite a lot, and he was worried it might upset her stomach.

That was Ye Yansheng's thought, but Song Guanyu saw it differently.

She suddenly remembered searching online before: "How to quickly get a sense of romance when with an older, traditional man." The answer was: accompany him on walks, play chess, hike, drink tea, and stroll in the park.
