She Only Felt Nausea
The plane skimmed over the dark sky of New York. Looking out the porthole, they gradually left behind the city of glittering yet bewildering lights, moving farther and farther from the ground. The buildings that had been so clear moments ago grew smaller and smaller. When they reached a certain altitude and looked down, the crisscrossing roads of the city looked like a dense, devouring net that would entangle people tightly, and it was still contracting.
This thought made Lu Chunhe’s heart tighten inexplicably. Suppressing her unease, she glanced at Song Guanyu beside her, who had fallen into a deep sleep—probably cried herself out.
Lu Chunhe frowned deeply, filled with worry. She gently reached out to adjust the blanket and cover her properly. The temperature inside the cabin was too low; she was afraid Song Guanyu might catch a cold. As she adjusted the blanket, she heard Song Guanyu mumbling something indistinctly, calling someone's name.
But Lu Chunhe couldn't make it out.
