Chapter 59

Xuan Yang woke up starving. When she opened her eyes, it was pitch black outside—still night. Dazed, she grabbed her phone to check the date and realized she had slept through an entire day. After last night's exertion, she had collapsed into bed. Sleeping so soundly for a whole day explained why her stomach was growling.

The big red wedding bed held only her. Zhou Dang was nowhere to be seen. Suspicious, she called him on her phone. No answer. She frowned. According to their schedule, the next two months were their honeymoon; he shouldn't be busy. Why wasn't he picking up?

Xuan Yang got up, washed up, and padded out of the master bedroom with a hand on her belly. She checked the study next door first—no Zhou Dang. The second floor of the villa was their private area: master bedroom, two studies, a gym, a game room, and a large terrace. Zhou Dang believed home should feel like a sanctuary, so private spaces should be relaxing and comfortable. He wouldn't have wanted two studies if not for Xuan Yang's workaholic tendencies—he always prioritized her needs.

After searching the second floor without finding him, she had to head downstairs. Finally, she spotted Zhou Dang busy in the kitchen. The tall man wore a loose black T-shirt, casual shorts, and house slippers. From behind, he looked like a college kid. He had on an apron, flipping through a cookbook while cooking, completely oblivious to his phone on the counter. He didn't even notice Xuan Yang approaching.

"What's cooking?" She wrapped her arms around his waist from behind. Startled, he stiffened, then exhaled with a chuckle. "When did you wake up? You move like a cat." His deep voice carried warmth and affection.

Xuan Yang peeked over his arm at the pan: sweet and sour ribs, her favorite. The glossy sauce coated the tender ribs, releasing a mouthwatering sweet-and-sour aroma. She swallowed, her hunger intensifying. "How did you know I wanted this?"
