Chapter 16: Ying Jingsheng Is a Thoroughgoing Villain! (2)

Tao Xinrou nodded and pumped her fist silently: Yes! Step two successful! As long as the last step goes right, she could launch phase two of her plan.

In the afternoon, Tao Xinrou followed Wei Hao to the general manager's office on the 39th floor. After the secretary made a brief report, they were let in.

The spacious office was bathed in sunlight, falling on Ying Jingsheng's stern brows. He was signing documents with downcast eyes. Hearing the sound, he looked up.

His gaze landed on Tao Xinrou, who was standing behind Wei Hao.

"I heard you wrote a 'VIP Service Summary and Optimization Proposal Report'? Tell me about it." Ying Jingsheng leaned back in his chair, his face dark and tense.

Tao Xinrou saw this side of Ying Jingsheng for the first time. She suddenly stiffened but matched this state with the scene from her premonition.

She stepped forward and began her presentation, clearly articulating the pain points, difficulties, and case support.

"...Therefore, I believe that to truly achieve a leap in service quality, we cannot just patch existing processes. We might need to look back and learn from earlier—even the group's founding or major development periods—service philosophies and classic cases. That might open new ideas for us. So I hope to have the opportunity, with the company's support, to access relevant historical documents and archives in the headquarters' archives."

The office fell silent for a moment. Wei Hao nervously observed Ying Jingsheng's reaction.

He didn't answer immediately but lowered his head to read the report. After a while, he looked up, his gaze settling on Tao Xinrou's face.

Sunlight cast subtle shadows in his deep eyes, making them hard to read.

"President Ying, I believe this is very necessary," Tao Xinrou added.

Ying Jingsheng looked at the report again, pondered for a moment, then spoke: "Connecting specific housekeeping services to the group's history and service genes is an ambitious perspective. However, the headquarters archives are not departmental databases. Access requires sufficient and legitimate reasons."

Wasn't her reason sufficient and legitimate enough?

So she said, "President Ying, I think my idea is very convincing."

"I don't think so." Ying Jingsheng closed the report, raised his head, and looked at Tao Xinrou. His gaze was not gentle as usual but cold and severe. "What you've written now looks like a spur-of-the-moment fantasy. Unless you can prove that past examples can actually improve current room occupancy rates and guest satisfaction."

"President Ying..." Tao Xinrou wanted to argue again.

"Let's leave this for now. I'll think about it."

Ying Jingsheng lowered his head, no longer looking at them.

Opportunity lost. Tao Xinrou and Wei Hao had to leave the office.

"Xiao Tao, you did well just now. Although the plan might have seemed a bit fanciful to President Ying, the fact that he was willing to listen to your plan is already the greatest encouragement. Don't be disappointed. Next time, prepare an even better report." Wei Hao gave her an encouraging look.

Tao Xinrou nodded and said she would keep working hard.

But inside, she was furious. Gentle ordinary colleague? Friendly tenant? All an act! This was his real self! Ying Jingsheng was a thoroughgoing villain!

She would be at odds with him!

Back in the president's office, Ying Jingsheng picked up the report again and flipped to the pages mentioning history and headquarters archives, his eyes deep and unfathomable.

He knew what she wanted to do, but with everything still unclear, he couldn't—or rather, dared not—let her access those materials on her own.

Moreover, he hadn't yet uncovered her ultimate goal.

He had to first determine whose side she was on.

To protect himself and to protect her, Ying Jingsheng decided to gradually bring this matter under his control.

If what she wanted to investigate was beneficial to him, fine. But if she stood opposite him, he would have to act immediately.

He turned to look at the bustling street outside, contemplating his next move.

Just then, Wang Anran's call came in: "President Ying, I've preliminarily sorted out the list of Tao Haizhen's direct supervisor and several key colleagues at the Southwest Branch back then."

"Send it to me now."

"Yes."
