Ying Huaishan...
He and her father had done charity together, worked on projects together, and gone to the Southwest Branch together.
But then what?
Three months later, her father had an accident.
And the person responsible for that accident was now Vice President, holding power at the top of the group, controlling others' lives.
When she had checked the files before, Tao Xinrou couldn't find any direct evidence. She could only look up relevant materials from the time.
She only knew that in 2009, her father seemed to have been assigned to supervise a construction project with a huge budget. There were others supervising alongside him.
But where to find these people? Tao Xinrou had no clue.
She suddenly felt utterly alone, adrift in a vast ocean.
And in that ocean, whether she would encounter man-eating sharks or a life-saving boat, she had no idea.
She decided she couldn't just wait to die. She had to take the initiative!
But now she was suspended and couldn't do anything. Even if she got her job back, it might still be difficult to uncover the truth on her own.
The only person she could rely on now was Ying Jingsheng.
Ying Jingsheng...
Every time, only that name surfaced in her mind.
But what could she do? If she had no backing, she might be the next one to meet with an accident.
She made up her mind. She would confess everything to Ying Jingsheng.

Tao Xinrou waited in the living room until ten o'clock.
When the door lock clicked, she was staring blankly at the TV, not registering a thing on the screen.
Ying Jingsheng pushed the door open and saw her still in the living room. He paused in his steps.
"Not asleep yet?"
"Mm." Tao Xinrou turned off the TV. "Waiting for you."
Ying Jingsheng stopped changing his shoes and looked up at her.
Tao Xinrou stood up, her expression serious. "There's something I want to discuss with you."
"What?"
"I want to cooperate with you."
"Cooperate on what?" Ying Jingsheng frowned at her.
Tao Xinrou tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, took a deep breath, and laid it all out. "I think you already know that I entered Yunlu to investigate my father's death, and you want to investigate your second uncle, Ying Huaishan."
"How do you know?" Ying Jingsheng was very curious. He walked over and asked.
"Because I can see the future—not just yours, but everyone's."
Ying Jingsheng didn't speak. He just looked at her quietly, as if trying to read something from her face.
Tao Xinrou knew that no one would believe her words, so she continued, "I know you don't believe me, but I really can see. From the moment you entered the hotel, I knew you would become the hotel's president."
"So that's why you were always afraid of me?" Ying Jingsheng furrowed his brow.
Tao Xinrou suddenly blushed. It wasn't fear; she just wanted to investigate the case.
"Yes, because I wanted to look into my father's case, but I was afraid you would find out I was investigating."
Ying Jingsheng was silent for a few seconds, his gaze still fixed on her face. He seemed intrigued and sat down beside her.
"Besides this, what else have you seen?"
Tao Xinrou knew he wouldn't easily believe her. If she were in his shoes and heard someone say that, she would probably think they were crazy.
"That time Li Meili framed me—before you came, I saw that she would frame me. And a few days ago, I saw you too."
"Saw what?" Ying Jingsheng prompted her to continue.
"I saw you finding evidence of my father's death."
Ying Jingsheng's brow twitched slightly.
The living room was silent for a few seconds.
He still didn't speak, but Tao Xinrou noticed that the look in his eyes had changed, now filled with deep scrutiny.
"You don't believe me, do you?" she asked.
"I want to say no, but..."
Tao Xinrou was startled.
"But it's not because of what you said," he paused before continuing, "It's because you just said that you know what I want."
Tao Xinrou didn't know how to respond, so she waited for him to continue.
