H City.
The snowplows in the blizzard had completely given up. The wind hurled snow against their bodies, and they couldn't move an inch. The lowest temperature in H City had plummeted below -40°C. The distant mountains had been swallowed by the blizzard, leaving only a chaotic white expanse between heaven and earth.
In previous years, the temperature at this time could at least hold steady at -20°C. But now, not even the tracks left by tank treads could last half an hour before being buried by fresh snow.
Under the near-zero visibility, tanks and transport vehicles with snow chains trudged forward. Even more conspicuous was the seemingly endless train at the front, clearing the way. The cars emitted a faint blue light, gliding smoothly over the meter-high snow, exuding an eerie quality that didn't belong to this era.
From satellite view, the train was several hundred meters long—actually ten cars connected end to end. The Train Conductors of H City carved a path through the snow for the tanks and transports, and once they reached the military factory, they continuously loaded coal, quilts, hot water bags, and other supplies into the cars.
After all the supplies were loaded, the train would split apart, each car heading to different villages around H City. They would deliver coal and grain to the village committees, distribute them to the trapped villagers, and carefully transport the comatose patients back to city hospitals for treatment.
