Chapter 24 Green Plum Fruit

Slap

Chen Yiyang went to the bathroom to deal with his wound alone.

Yun Mi sat in Chen Yiyang's seat, only belatedly feeling flustered.

Damn! She-she-she-she sat where?

The chair still had his body heat. Hot!

The girl shot up.

Chen Yiyang opened the bathroom door, his hair slightly falling, his gaze drifting over, and saw Yun Mi touching the tip of her nose, looking like she was about to leave as if nothing had happened.

Chen Yiyang asked, "Going back to sleep?"

Yun Mi: "Mm."

Yun Mi corrected herself: "Memorize a bit of 'Pipa Xing.'"

Chen Yiyang opened his mouth: "Tomorrow…"

He was interrupted. Yun Mi said, "Old Qi's suggestion collection, I said I want to sit in front of or behind you."

The sudden confession broke the silence around them.

They abruptly met eyes in the dimness. The moment their gazes collided, it was like a tiny but scorching electric current flashed through, silently scorching the air.

Chen Yiyang squinted slightly.

He said, "Okay."

Yun Mi's voice was hoarse. She unconsciously averted her gaze and whispered, "I'm going to sleep, gege."

"Good night."

Old Qi had sent a seating adjustment opinion poll in the class group. Zhou Shihui had privately contacted him, saying he wanted to sit in front of or behind Yun Mi. Old Qi simply replied with an "OK."

The next morning, the class was in chaos over the seat change. The result was as he had hoped, but there was a small accident.

Chen Yiyang sat directly behind Yun Mi, but he himself ended up squeezed next to Chen Yiyang.

Old Qi was democratic, always abiding by the majority. When there was a tie, he would ask individually.

This meant at least two people had opposed, resulting in him being so casually "transferred."

Xie Yue thought he was overthinking, patting his shoulder: "Just say whether it's one behind the other or not?"

"…"

Throughout, Chen Yiyang stood cold-faced to the side.

The summer uniform was white with deep blue thin stripes. He slightly lowered his head, his hair covering his brows and eyes, carrying a slight chill.

The slap mark on his cheek was still vividly glaring, red like a conspicuous mark. Early in the morning as he entered the school gate, some people were whispering about it in the dark.

Friday morning reading was English. The required textbook 3 had just been thrown on the desk when Xie Yue reached out and hooked Chen Yiyang's collar from behind, looking utterly baffled.

"Yang ge, who the hell did you fight with yesterday?" Chen Yiyang was usually sharp-tongued but very measured in his actions and well-liked. The more Xie Yue thought about it, the stranger it seemed: "Someone from another school?"

The seats had already been changed. Tan Hua was on the platform reading the answers to the homework multiple-choice questions. Xie Yue was too curious, lowering his voice to a hiss: "You didn't fight back?"

Chen Yiyang had a competition paper spread out in front of him, with Xie Yue clinging to the back of his chair. He remained silent throughout.

Xie Yue's pupils contracted slightly, and he lowered his voice sharply: "…A girl?"

Tan Hua had reached her limit and said coldly: "Xie Yue! Still whispering! You can read the rest of the answers."

Xie Yue stood up dejectedly, pulling a long face: "Teacher Tan, you know my English is the worst in the class…"

The class burst into laughter.

Tan Hua raised her voice impatiently: "Chen Yiyang, your turn."

Chen Yiyang had left school early yesterday, and he only received the homework this morning.

Yun Mi in the front row quietly tilted her test paper halfway, lightly tapped her pen, and whispered: "Start from this question."

Chen Yiyang's gaze fell, his eyelashes dropping slightly, landing on Yun Mi's red cherry hair tie. He said flatly: "Didn't do it."

"…"

Tan Hua slammed the podium and said angrily: "You two really are a handful. Both of you take your papers and go stand at the back of the classroom to listen!"

Yun Mi secretly looked back. Chen Yiyang seemed to still be upset about arguing with his father.

During the break, Ding Yuan and Xie Yue had already updated the gossip. She said: "Yun Mi, did you know? Chen Yiyang got slapped by a girl from another school who's close to him!"

Where did that come from?

The only candidate Ding Yuan knew who fit the criteria was Jiang Miyan, who had tried to give him a love letter last time.

Just as she was about to guess, Yun Mi had just finished pouring hot water and interrupted: "That's not—"

"What's not? Yun Mi, do you know who hit him?"

Chen Yiyang had already returned to his seat, leaning against the chair, more quiet than usual.

Xie Yue pulled up a chair, and the five of them huddled together. He came up with a weird solution: "Yun Mi… it wasn't you who hit him, was it?"
