But then again, if that were the case, a little scheming might not be a big deal.

"Then I guess it's okay."
Chu Lulin sighed in relief, the tension from tonight finally dissipating.
They continued walking and chatting, circling the garden once more.
The garden was genuinely nice, with a Zen cultural aesthetic—carefully arranged dry landscapes, stone lanterns, and bamboo water chimes.
The night breeze carried the sound of wind chimes or pine trees, clear and soothing, making the whole body and mind relax.
Even though it was night, there were streetlights every few steps, so visibility was good.
As Jian Ran walked, she suddenly spotted a peculiarly shaped pebble. She picked it up in delight. "Look, this pebble has a really unique shape!"
She just couldn't figure out what it resembled.
Chu Lulin looked over too.
They leaned in together, staring at the pebble for a while, but still couldn't make it out.
Jian Ran's eyes grew tired, so she rolled her neck to loosen up. Her gaze inadvertently swept across Chu Lulin's lower face, and her heart tightened.
Why did his lips look even more kissable than before?
How strange. The weather was so dry, and he'd been hiking in the wind all afternoon, yet they still looked so luscious.
Ugh—this was practically tempting sin.
Jian Ran was annoyed at her lack of self-control, but she couldn't help sneaking glances at his mouth.
Chu Lulin met her gaze, immediately reading her intent. A smile flashed across his face.
Her thoughts were so easy to guess, written all over her face. He just hadn't thought about it that way before.
Chu Lulin looked down at her and suddenly said, "I know your secret, big sister."
Jian Ran was taken aback. "Don't talk nonsense. Wh-what secret could I have?"
It couldn't be that obvious.
"Am I talking nonsense?" Chu Lulin raised an eyebrow. "Don't you want to kiss me?"
Jian Ran's mind exploded. She stared at him in disbelief.
Chu Lulin leaned forward, his voice carrying a tickling smile. "Then let me fulfill your wish, okay?"
Before he finished speaking, he leaned down and kissed her lips.
