"You misunderstand, Big Sister. I wasn't worried about that."
"Then what?"
Chu Lulin gave a faint smile, hesitating. "You're the first guest I've been assigned to since I started at the villa. I wanted to do a good job."
Jian Ran was stunned. So she had dampened his enthusiasm.
Actually, when Chu Lulin said he'd made his own plans, she was genuinely surprised. She hadn't expected him to be so dedicated.
She was partly to blame. She hadn't told him she had no intention of going out, so he'd done all this preparation only to be disappointed.
Anyone would feel let down.
"It's fine. You can take on other guests. I don't need much attention."
That way, the plans he made might still be useful.
But Chu Lulin shook his head, sounding a little forlorn. "To ensure quality service, the villa only assigns one guest to new staff at a time."
"If you don't want to go out, Big Sister, that's okay. You can still contact me anytime. I'll always be free."
Jian Ran: "..."
Sigh.
Looking at Chu Lulin, she sighed inwardly. He was too honest. He said it was fine, but his expression said otherwise.
He really had no idea how to pretend.
Those who knew Jian Ran understood that she was soft-hearted. Especially when Chu Lulin kept calling her "Big Sister" so obediently, it was hard to refuse him.
Besides, she felt partly responsible. And on top of that, he had found her when she had a fever, taken her to the hospital, and stayed to take care of her.
That was a favor she still owed.
Tsk. She should have known better than to owe favors.
"Give me a reason," she said, making one last attempt.
Chu Lulin blinked, confused.
"A reason that can convince me to go out!" Jian Ran didn't need a mirror to know she had a look of "martyrdom" on her face.
Maybe it was too sudden, or maybe it was truly hard to come up with such a reason. Chu Lulin opened his mouth, hesitated several times, but couldn't speak.
Jian Ran's eyes lit up. See? It wasn't that she was being unreasonable. She'd given him a chance.
But just as she thought he would give up, he spoke hesitantly: "...You're here anyway."
Jian Ran: "???"
