Chapter 20

The two returned the fishing gear and released all the small fish they had caught, keeping only the big one Yu Wanwan had caught, planning to have it processed into fish soup at the hotel restaurant later.

As soon as Yu Wanwan stepped into the restaurant, a waitress nearby saw her and immediately greeted her with a smile.

She placed the bucket with the big fish on the front desk in a domineering manner. The waitress looked at the big fish in the bucket and couldn't help exclaiming, "You actually caught such a big stream trout?"

Yu Wanwan proudly leaned in. "I caught it."

As she spoke, perhaps due to catching a chill, she couldn't help sneezing.

Zhang Jingxu, afraid she might catch a cold, handed the fish to the waitress and quickly pulled her back to the room.

Back in the room, Zhang Jingxu immediately said, "Go take a shower quickly, don't catch a cold."

Yu Wanwan took off her damp jacket and said while untying her hair tie, "You go first."

Zhang Jingxu: "You go first."

Yu Wanwan frowned. "I take forever in the shower. You go first."

Zhang Jingxu: "..."

He was worried that if he kept arguing with her, Yu Wanwan would unleash her fiery temper, so he stopped talking and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower in five minutes.

"I'm done," he said, walking out while wiping his wet hair, urging, "Hurry up and take yours."

Yu Wanwan got up leisurely and walked into the steamy bathroom.

As it turned out, Yu Wanwan really did take forever in the shower. Zhang Jingxu had already dried his hair, but she still hadn't finished.

Summer days are always long; it was still early before dark. Zhang Jingxu pushed open the glass door. Raindrops fell from the sky, pattering against the bamboo grove nearby and the roof of the hot spring pool. At that moment, he couldn't help but feel the poetic mood of listening to the rain hitting the leaves.

After enjoying the rain scenery for a while, Zhang Jingxu closed the glass door. The room had its curtains drawn, with only a small lamp on, making it somewhat dim.

He lay bored on the bed, reaching out to feel for the switch on the wall.

With a "click," Zhang Jingxu pressed a switch, but the room didn't brighten as he expected. Instead, the frosted glass of the bathroom suddenly turned clear and transparent.

Not yet realizing he had pressed the wrong switch, Zhang Jingxu sat up abruptly from the bed. Seeing the curvaceous female body through the glass, his throat unconsciously tightened. The strong visual impact made his heart race uncontrollably.

Until Yu Wanwan's fresh and lovely face clearly appeared before the glass. The moment their eyes met, both were stunned.

The next second, the man, finally realizing what had happened, quickly averted his gaze and immediately turned off the switch he had mistakenly pressed.

With a piercing "Ah—" that could shatter glass, Yu Wanwan's scream echoed from the bathroom.

Two minutes later, Yu Wanwan, wrapped only in a bath towel and shower cap, stormed out of the bathroom in a rage to confront the meddlesome man.

As if a invisible flame of fury blazed behind her, she grabbed Zhang Jingxu by the collar and shouted, her voice full of anger: "Zhang Jingxu, you pervert!"

It had been a long time since Yu Wanwan had grabbed him by the collar so violently. Zhang Jingxu inexplicably felt a familiar sense of intimacy. While inwardly sighing that she was indeed the 21st century's 'Ugly Queen', he desperately defended himself: "I didn't mean to! I wanted to turn on the light. How was I supposed to know the hotel would put the bathroom switch..."

Before he could finish, Yu Wanwan roared, "What did you see?"

"I... I didn't see anything clearly."

"You wanted to see clearly?" A few drops of water dripped from her wet hair onto the man's abdomen. Yu Wanwan roared, now angry enough to lift the man with both hands and throw him against the wall until he stuck there. "Do you believe I'll gouge out your eyes and make soup with them right now?!"

He believed it, of course he did.

"I really didn't mean to," Zhang Jingxu weakly defended himself, knowing that nothing he said could calm her fury. He simply gave up and said, "If it really bothers you, I can take off my clothes and let you look at me, okay?"

Yu Wanwan never expected him to have a glib tongue. She inwardly lamented that men were all the same.

She roared at him again: "What's there to see in you? How many key parts do you have to look at? Huh!"

She screamed, and with a forceful tug, she actually ripped two buttons off his shirt.

The buttons spun wildly on the smooth floor, then made a faint clicking sound.

Zhang Jingxu looked down at the two missing buttons on his collar, his eyes full of shock.

He now began to worry whether Yu Wanwan might tear him in half in her anger!

Fortunately, Yu Wanwan finally managed to calm down somewhat. She huffily let go of his clothes and turned to go change in the bathroom.

Zhang Jingxu was still immersed in the shock of Yu Wanwan's tremendous strength. He had known she was strong, but not to this extent...

Well, anyway, when they were in school, wasn't he used to her tearing his school uniform collars? This was just her basic move when angry.

Yu Wanwan came out wearing a white spaghetti strap dress, then crouched by the suitcase and rummaged for something.

Zhang Jingxu hesitated for a long time before carefully asking, "What are you looking for?"

She answered grumpily, "My jacket."

Yu Wanwan cursed under her breath while searching: "Damn it, I clearly remember bringing a jacket. Where did it go..."

Hearing this, Zhang Jingxu suddenly remembered the jacket left on his bed last night. His expression immediately became guilty, but fortunately Yu Wanwan was buried in the suitcase, searching intently, and didn't notice his unnatural reaction.

Zhang Jingxu was silent for a moment. Knowing she would never find her jacket here, he said softly, "If you can't find it, forget it. You can wear mine as a makeshift."

"I don't want to wear your clothes!" Yu Wanwan stood up angrily, then opened the wardrobe to continue searching.

Until she was sure the jacket might have been left at home, she simply decided to go out without it.

Zhang Jingxu said nothing, following her cautiously like a child who had done something wrong.

They arrived at the restaurant. Yu Wanwan still wore a sullen face without a word.
