Chapter 6 (3)

"What?! How outrageous!"

Yuan Zixu slammed the table, stood up with a frown—

"Does he think having some stinking money lets him do whatever he wants?!"

Her Xuyu was such a good person; why should she be a stand-in for some long-lost lover or whatever?

Yuan Zixu drank two big gulps of tea, heavily slapped Chang Xuyu's shoulder twice, then gripped it and shook her, saying seriously, "Xuyu, the divorce is set. I support you!"

Chang Xuyu's head spun from the shaking. She raised her hand and made an "OK" sign.

Yuan Zixu's phone rang. It was a client calling.

After finishing the call, she yawned, collapsed onto the sofa, and sighed deeply.

Chang Xuyu gently smoothed her long hair.

Her movements were soft and gentle. Yuan Zixu hummed in comfort, then mumbled, "I'm exhausted. I've been working on this commission forever! A client is coming over to take a look later."

Chang Xuyu got interested. She leaned close to her ear and asked if she could take a look.

"Of course, Teacher Chang. You can give me feedback. Let's go to my studio right now."

Yuan Zixu shot up and pulled Chang Xuyu to leave.

"Wait, if we go now... won't it interfere with your appointment?" Chang Xuyu was a bit worried.

Yuan Zixu waved her hand. "No way. The client is a friend of mine. It's fine."

After saying that, she lowered her head and thought carefully for a moment, then suddenly laughed. Taking Chang Xuyu's hand, she said excitedly, with eyes sparkling, "Perfect, Xuyu. You can get to know each other too."

"Huh?"

Chang Xuyu had a bad feeling.

"Let's go, let's go."

After driving for about twenty minutes, they arrived at the downstairs of Yuan Zixu's studio.

Yuan Zixu glanced at her watch and looked around. "He probably hasn't arrived yet. Let's go up first."

The wooden stairs were spotless. When they reached the top, Chang Xuyu saw the neatly arranged acrylic and watercolor paints and felt genuine admiration.

Yuan Zixu had OCD. For an artist to have such a clean studio was not easy.

Speaking of which, she had never been to Yi Zhuo's studio, nor had she ever seen him sculpt...

The curtains were drawn tight. The fluorescent light made eyes sting. The air was mixed with a faint smell of paint and disinfectant.

Yuan Zixu was busy moving canvases. Chang Xuyu was about to help her when suddenly, a man's voice came from behind.

"Xuyu?"

Chang Xuyu was startled by the voice and turned around.

Not far away, Jian Jiayue looked at her with surprise and composure, a hint of a smile curled at the corner of his mouth.
