Chapter 11 (3)

Yi Zhuo tilted his head back and finished the water. As his arms flexed, the fine sweat on his forehead was clearly visible, streaming down his smooth muscle lines.

"Take a rest if you're tired," she said.

Sculpture was physical work.

"It's fine."

Chang Xuyu stood beside him, watching him. She hesitated but didn't step forward to talk to him again.

The employees, however, were very curious about her, eagerly coming over to chat with the beautiful, quiet boss's wife.

Yi Zhuo frowned, shooed the group away, put on a sweater, and directly took her hand to walk outside.

"It's stuffy inside. What did you come to me for?" he asked, his tone softening as they reached an open space, patiently inquiring.

Chang Xuyu stepped back a few paces, one hand hanging down, hiding her bulging pocket.

She unfolded a drawing and gently curved the corner of her mouth, looking at him.

Yi Zhuo focused on it.

It was a painting she had just done.

In the picture was a girl wearing a beret and carrying a square handbag, with long hair and big eyes—a bit familiar.

He furrowed his brows, then suddenly seemed to think of something, a ripple stirring in his eyes.

Chang Xuyu bit her lip and took out the wood carving from her pocket.

The small carving of a girl lay in her tender pink palm, perfectly fitting.

He was startled. For a moment, his dark eyes seemed to darken further.

It really was his carving, "Xuyu."

He had hidden all the other carvings in the office but had missed this one.

The man composed himself, took the carving, held it in his hand, and closed his eyes.

Chang Xuyu looked up at him, calmed herself, and slowly asked—

"Yi Zhuo, so... have we met before?"

She wanted the truth from him.

Author's note:

A bit earlier today.

Recommend a solo song by Ningning, "Bored!"

It's very good; this chapter ends with that song~
