Chapter 29: Pretending to Be the Young Lady of an Aristocratic Academy (2)

Then he reached out and grabbed her restless foot. His icy fingers touched her soft ankle, the cold seeping through her skin into her blood, shooting up her spine and into her brain.

Song Lian lifted his head again and laughed, showing his stark white teeth—a laugh that was cold yet gentle.

His dark eyes stared straight at Su Zhiyi, his gaze heavy, complex emotions churning like stormy seas.

"Baby... Zhiyi, that's what Si Yanjing called you yesterday, right? Baby, baby... I really like that name too. Can I call you that from now on?"

His voice was gentle, like a soft yet deadly venomous snake slithering up Su Zhiyi's back and coiling around her throat.

The snake's fangs pressed against her throat, ready to sink in at any moment.

An alarm screamed in her mind.

He's crazy, Song Lian is completely crazy!

Why isn't System 030 back yet?!

Su Zhiyi quickly pulled back, grabbing her phone from the nightstand.

She didn't even realize her body was trembling slightly—a sign of fear.

Despite her fear, she put on an arrogant, young-madam facade, threatening Song Lian, trying to snap him out of his madness. "Just you wait! I'm the eldest miss of the Su family. You can't keep me trapped here forever. The Su family will come looking for me sooner or later! I—I'll contact Si Yanjing and Su Qinghuai right now!"

Just as she unlocked her phone, Song Lian leaned over her.

One hand grabbed hers from behind, while the other manipulated her phone, opening WeChat.

The contact list appeared. He moved the phone away, and his face appeared behind it—wearing a smile that was gentle enough to send chills down your spine.

"Sure," Song Lian said softly. "Go ahead and contact them, baby."

Su Zhiyi froze for a second, then quickly shifted her attention from Song Lian's face to the phone.

She was now the Su family's acknowledged eldest miss, and Si Yanjing was her fiancé in name. Su Qinghuai was her "brother." Even without what happened yesterday, they couldn't possibly ignore her and let her be imprisoned in this villa.

She tried to find familiar names in her contact list, but was shocked to find it empty.

Not a single friend!

"I already deleted all your friends," Song Lian said.

Su Zhiyi opened the dialer to call Si Yanjing.

"And I pulled out your SIM card," Song Lian added.

Su Zhiyi: "..."

She still remembered Si Yanjing's number and tried to add him back.

"And I cut off the network," Song Lian chuckled. "Hehe... Disappointed? You're destined to be entangled with me for the rest of your life."

"You and I—we'll be like red threads, twisting together into a knot that can never be undone."

The phone in her hand had no network and no SIM card—just a broken brick.

Su Zhiyi hurled the phone at Song Lian's annoyingly handsome face like a brick, snarling, "Who the hell wants to be entangled with you for life? Even if I can't reach them, they'll definitely come for me!"

Song Lian smoothly dodged, tilting his head to avoid the flying phone.

The phone hit the wall nearby with a sharp crack, the screen shattering like a spiderweb before falling to the floor.

The screen flickered twice, then went black completely.

Su Zhiyi had thrown the phone with all her might—the wall had a dent in it, and the phone was ruined. It showed just how much she hated him.

Song Lian didn't look back. Instead, he picked up the sandwich from the nightstand and held it to Su Zhiyi's mouth.

"If you don't want this phone, then don't. I'll bring you the latest model tomorrow. Don't tire your hands," Song Lian said, tilting his head with a smile. "Eat something. You didn't eat much last night."

Seeing his calm demeanor only fueled her anger. She wasn't just not hungry—she was full of rage.

She slapped his hand away, and the sandwich fell to the floor.

Having always pretended to be well-behaved in front of him, she now let her rebellious nature take over.

"Get lost! I don't want to eat your food. I'll wait for them to come get me. I don't ever want to see you again!"

"Fine," Song Lian said, unruffled by her harsh words.

He left the room, but returned a few minutes later—not empty-handed, but with a tablet.

He handed the tablet to Su Zhiyi, saying gently, "Baby, your phone is broken. I'll buy you the latest one tomorrow. This is my tablet; I've downloaded a few TV shows and movies. You can watch them if you're bored. When you finish, tell me, and I'll download more."

"As for leaving—don't even think about it. You can't."

Su Zhiyi let out a breath, finally calming down. She stared at Song Lian steadily. "Why can't I leave?"

The curve of Song Lian's lips didn't change, but his gentle voice suddenly turned cold. "I've downloaded the St. Desmo Academy forum on the tablet. I'm logged into my account—you can browse posts without internet, but you can't post or reply."

"If you're curious, take a look."

He cleaned up the scattered pieces of the sandwich, leaving the floor spotless and shiny again.

His tone softened once more, as if he were calmly talking to a lover after a fight.

"Since this breakfast spilled, I'll prepare a new one for you. You'll have to bear with being a little hungry."
