Chapter 2 (3)

"Don't pretend you don't understand."

She was forced to ask the question: "Are you breaking up with me?"

Xiao Yu didn't speak, but his expression confirmed it.

Zhou Nannan's eyes suddenly welled up with tears. She reached out recklessly to grab his arm: "No, I don't agree..."

"As you wish."

Xiao Yu raised an eyebrow. His thin eyelids formed two deep creases. He leaned back in his chair, looking indifferent: "Anyway, I, as the party concerned, agree. That's enough."

His tone was resolute.

He didn't like people fawning over him.

And he didn't like people being arrogant in front of him.

No one had that privilege.

Zhou Nannan couldn't believe it. She couldn't believe that her boyfriend, in a conflict between his girlfriend and his buddies, chose to side with his buddies.

They had only been together for three days, all during the holiday. They had just met, and he wanted to break up with her.

She cried out of anger. She stepped back, and her chair scraped loudly against the floor. Customers at other tables looked over. She was utterly embarrassed.

"Xiao Yu, someone like you will get what's coming to you sooner or later!"

After saying that, Zhou Nannan ran off without looking back.

The tablemates exchanged awkward glances. Xu Qingsong sighed: "A Yu, you were a bit harsh. How many girls have you already chased away with your attitude?"

"Should I keep her around to act up in front of me?"

Xiao Yu lit a cigarette, the smoke curling around his face not hiding his coldness: "It's boring."

It was always the same phrase.

Boring.

"He's really a player," Ye Qingli commented from afar. She ate the last bite in her bowl, then turned to go pay the bill.

She took out her student ID, which gave her a 30% discount.

When she came back, the others had almost finished eating. There was still some beef left in the pot, and Zhang Yan was packing it up.

"Let's go."

Soon, their table finished too.

Xu Qingsong went to the front desk to pay. The rest of them slowly walked out.

A phone beeped. Xiao Yu took it out and saw it was a message from Zhou Nannan.

"Let's unfriend each other."

Xiao Yu had never liked her anyway. After reading it, he expressionlessly pressed delete.

As he was about to look up, his peripheral vision caught a small red booklet lying on the ground.

He squatted down and picked it up. It was a student ID.

Xiao Yu opened it. In the photo, the girl had curled eyelashes, clear and lively pupils, and her eyes curved like crescent moons when she smiled. She had an innate purity. Her hair was loosely draped over one shoulder. She belonged to the pure and innocent type.

There was a hint of resilience hidden beneath her radiance.

Further down was the name.

Ye Qingli.

Liu Xu reached out and took it. After staring at it for a moment, he laughed: "Damn, isn't this the girl who choked earlier? I was too far away to see how pretty she was."

Others heard and crowded around. "Whoa, she looks pretty obedient."

"What a great opportunity. Anyone want to get to know her? Take the ID and return it to her!"

"Let me! Let me!"

Just as a guy was about to reach for it, the student ID was snatched away by two slender fingers.

Xiao Yu was holding a cigarette in his mouth. He raised an eyebrow and gave a mischievous smile.

"I found it."
