Chapter 15 Spring Night (5)

"Good, I support you," Shen Yue said. "And don't worry about your aunt and uncle. I'll visit them when I have time."

Jiang Xiao felt most sorry about that. "A Yue, you've worked hard."

"Not hard at all. It's what I should do," Shen Yue said. "Don't forget, we're sisters."

As she spoke, Shen Yue suddenly spotted someone. She covered the receiver and whispered, "Guess who I see?"

Jiang Xiao couldn't guess. "Who?"

"Your ex-husband," Shen Yue replied. "Cheng Yuan."

"He's at Jiesè with friends."

Jiang Xiao knew about Jiesè—the most famous club in Jingbei, membership-only, hard to get into. Jiang Xiao had only been there once.

But whether it was women or men going to that kind of place, it was only for fun.

Exactly as expected, Cheng Yuan had gone to that kind of place again.

"Feeling down, so he's looking for some fun," Jiang Xiao said indifferently. "That's fine."

"Damn, that dog of a man! On the phone, he acts all lovesick—won't let you go, wants you to stay, says he'll do anything for you—and behind the scenes, he pulls this stunt," Shen Yue said furiously. "Everything online is true: men are only faithful when they're dead."

Jiang Xiao laughed. "Cheng Yuan and I are already divorced. Don't get too invested."

"The paperwork isn't done yet, so it's not official. Him openly looking for women like this—that makes him a scumbag," Shen Yue frowned.

"He was like this before," Jiang Xiao said, her eyes dropping to stare at a spot. "He played even harder in the past."

Videos of that could still be found online. They were quite wild—the kind most people would be embarrassed to watch.

"Didn't he say they were fake?"

"You believe that?" Jiang Xiao laughed. "I had someone compare them. The videos weren't edited. They were real."

"Damn! Scumbag!" Shen Yue cursed. "I can't swallow this. I have to go punch him."

Jiang Xiao took it as an angry remark. "You can't beat him anyway. Let's not talk about him. Let's talk about something else."

Shen Yue didn't heed Jiang Xiao's warning. She crouched down, crept over to the door, and peeked through the crack. She heard someone say:

"A Yuan, tell us honestly—did you ever truly like Jiang Xiao? Did you ever love her?"

"All these years, she's been accommodating you. She took care of your family and your mistresses. Was there ever a moment of tenderness in your heart?"

"When you saw her cry, how did you feel? Did it hurt?"

"There are no outsiders here. Tell us, what's really on your mind?"

Shen Yue raised an eyebrow, deliberately pressed the speaker button, and then pressed her phone against the door.

The sound was loud; every word could be heard clearly.

Cheng Yuan tilted his head back, finished the glass of red wine, then set it down. He crossed his legs and sank back into the shadows, his shoulders slumped, his posture lazy, but his expression carried a hint of seriousness that was hard to detect.

Something flickered in his deep eyes.

His voice was low and a little hoarse.

"Jiang Xiao, she—"

Everyone in the room perked up. Xu Cong urged, "Jiang Xiao what?"

Cheng Yuan: "Jiang Xiao cries too much. I hate women who cry."

As he finished, everyone sighed.

Shen Yue cursed under her breath, What a dog.

Suddenly remembering her phone was on speaker, she quickly turned it off. She crouched low and crept away carefully. When she reached a secluded spot, she said into the phone, "Xiao Xiao, forget him. He's just a scumbag."

Jiang Xiao didn't care anymore. "Don't worry, I'm not upset."

Just then, someone knocked. Jiang Xiao ended the call with Shen Yue.

Zhang Rong sent a WeChat message: [Capital has been injected. What next?]

Jiang Xiao looked out the window at the hazy sky and replied.

[Destroy Cheng Yuan.]
