It tickled too much, so Jiang Xiao slapped that person, then fell into a deep sleep.
She slept well, dreamless until dawn.
Cheng Yuan, on the other hand, had a rough time. He woke up three times in the night and took three cold showers. The last time, only sheer willpower stopped him from taking Jiang Xiao right then.
After all, she was just too tempting.
At five in the morning, Cheng Yuan woke up. He went to the gym first, then came back to make breakfast.
Jiang Xiao was woken by the aroma of food. Opening her eyes, she looked around the unfamiliar room, threw off the covers, and got out of bed. She followed the sounds and saw a tall figure standing by the stove.
Black shirt, black suit pants, broad shoulders and narrow waist—his figure was even more pleasing than a model’s.
She didn’t rush forward. Instead, she leaned against the door with her arms crossed, appreciating the view. She had to admit, Cheng Yuan’s physique was indeed good. But even so, it wasn’t enough to stir any emotions in her.
After all, the male models in the nightclub had good figures too.
Cheng Yuan heard her and turned around. The corners of his tightly pressed lips slowly lifted. He hung up his Bluetooth headset and strode over. “You’re awake.”
Ignoring his electrifying gaze, Jiang Xiao looked away. “Is this your home?”
“No.” Cheng Yuan wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. “It’s our home.”
Jiang Xiao stepped back expressionlessly. “You’re you, I’m me. Not ‘our.’”
“You slept with me,” Cheng Yuan said.
“You slept with me too,” Jiang Xiao countered. “We’re even.”
He didn’t want to be even with her. Cheng Yuan tilted his head to show her his collarbone. “You bit me.”
Jiang Xiao glanced at it and was surprised. “Are you sure it was me?”
No wonder she doubted—the mark was too deep and severe, not like a human bite.
“Not admitting it?” Cheng Yuan pulled out his phone, opened the photo gallery, and showed her the evidence.
It really was her bite. Jiang Xiao coughed lightly. “So you want to bite me back?”
“If you agree, I will.”
“I don’t agree.” Jiang Xiao said, “You brought this on yourself.”
She pushed him. “Where are my clothes? I need to get dressed.”
Cheng Yuan pointed to the trash can. “They’re ruined. In there.”
Jiang Xiao followed his finger and saw a pile of what looked like rags. “You ruined them?”
Cheng Yuan didn’t deny it. “Too many buttons. I had to tear them off.”
“I’ll buy you new ones,” he added.
Jiang Xiao still had things to do. “Where are the new clothes?”
“In the dressing room.” Cheng Yuan reached out. “Let me carry you.”
“No need.” Awake, Jiang Xiao put on her armor again, showing no mercy. “If you’re that free, go care about someone else.”
“I don’t care about anyone else. Only you.” Cheng Yuan didn’t want to be misunderstood. “The rumor about the scandal was fake. Based on hearsay.”
Jiang Xiao looked him up and down. In those years, he had always disdained explanations. Even when she cried, he wouldn’t say a word.
“If you don’t believe me, I can bring the person here to confront you face-to-face.” Cheng Yuan was a little anxious.
Jiang Xiao raised an eyebrow. “No need.”
“You believe me?” Cheng Yuan pulled her into his arms. “I knew you would trust me.”
“You’re overthinking.” Jiang Xiao poked his chest. “This isn’t trust. I just don’t care who you have scandals with. After all, we’re just a one-night stand.”
“…” Cheng Yuan didn’t want just one night. Pain flashed across his face. “Xiao Xiao, you know I want more than just the present. I want the future.”
“Future?” Jiang Xiao scoffed. “You and I have no future.”
“Mmph—”
Before she could finish, Cheng Yuan kissed her fiercely, biting her hard.
“If not with me, then who? Those male models or your blind dates?”
“I won’t allow it. None of it.” Cheng Yuan was steeped in violence, his kisses growing rougher. “You’re mine. Only mine.”
“And if I refuse?”
“Then I…” He paused. “I’ll be ruined.”
And then, we’ll go to hell together.
