Chapter 71

The small dining room suitable for three people was located next to the living room on the first floor of the mansion, furnished with an arc-shaped mahogany dining table. The table was covered with a white cloth, adorned with a silver flower pot in the shape of a swan, silver candlesticks, tall stemmed plates, long-handled silver pots, an angel-shaped incense burner, and a total of twenty to thirty pieces of tableware.

Malock slowly sat down on a velvet-covered chair, glanced around the table, and noticed the flower vase filled with white and pink roses, arranged beautifully. It was clearly prepared to please Jenny. Perhaps everyone in the mansion hadn't expected an extra third person like him at this meal. Realizing this, he inexplicably felt the urge to twitch his mouth.

Zweit usually didn't have so many fancy details when eating at home. It was commendable that he went to such trouble for Jenny, a good girl. But Malock felt that Zweit's personality was too hard to tolerate, and they might not end up together.

Malock had completely forgotten that he had once speculated whether Jenny was like other women, actively clinging to Zweit. He intended to retaliate against Zweit, this arrogant fellow, and deliberately ruined the romantic atmosphere by continuing to discuss work and writing with Jenny at the table, intentionally leaving Zweit out.

The meal dragged on slowly and lengthily. Zweit noticed Malock's pettiness but didn't care about his old friend's little tricks. However, when he turned his head and saw Jenny, she seemed to have completely ignored him, which made him slightly displeased.

Jenny, while cutting the mushroom sauce paired with beef cheek on her plate, asked Malock if he knew Norlave.

"Him? He seems to be studying at New York University, majoring in classical arts. He hasn't written books for a long time. I remember six months ago, a fellow professional introduced him at a salon in Midtown."

Upon hearing this, Jenny nodded happily.
