The entire third floor was part of the master suite area. Jenny toured around and watched as her luggage was taken to the room adjacent to his bedroom, separated only by a wall.
Zweit led her upstairs. He walked into the room first, his eyes sweeping over it. Casually, he picked out the furnishings, the butler listening attentively nearby, ready to summon servants to move things, open the storeroom, or immediately purchase items from furniture merchants.
Jenny followed behind, watching as he had the butler replace all the furnishings in the bedroom with ones he approved of in style and design. She couldn't help but roll her eyes inwardly.
Even keeping a cat or dog would be like this—from the cage to the food and clothing, everything according to the owner's preferences. If he thought it was good, then it was good, without asking her opinion.
After giving his orders, Zweit turned and saw Jenny sitting on a walnut high-backed chair by the window, pulling a book from the bookshelf to read. She looked sulky but dared not speak her mind.
He didn't want her to argue with him at every turn, nor did he intend to guess her mood all day. He knew what he wanted: someone who could be completely obedient and accompany him, occasionally with a bit of personality and intelligence.
Zweit glanced around, and the servants and butler in the room sensed something was off and slipped away. He walked over to her, took the book from her hands, bent down, lifted her from the chair, and placed her on the desk, facing him.
