Chapter 78

During autumn and winter, most dinners are served with broth to keep them from cooling too quickly. Jenny was eating a plate of shrimp in sauce, her lips glistening with oil. Before she noticed, the man beside her reached out and wiped her mouth with a handkerchief. Jenny looked up, catching only a glimpse of his silent profile, his eyes deep and calm, but he quickly averted his gaze, put down the handkerchief, and continued eating.

Zweit thought for a while, concluding that she probably didn't want to rely on him and was only willing to appreciate his kindness in her heart, but didn't want to trouble him.
