Ever since Jenny's promotion, the landlady in charge of the dormitory building intended to change her room to a slightly more comfortable one, but she had been trying to catch Jenny for days. Jenny worked late in the secretariat every day, and today she finally managed to ambush her.
Jenny waved off the landlady's enthusiasm and explained the situation to her.
"I appreciate your trouble, but I plan to move out next week. I haven't had time to mention it in advance. When I move, I'll need to trouble you to keep an eye on any mail sent to the dormitory. If any comes, please have someone bring it to the office."
With that, Jenny went back into her room and took a bottle of perfume—given by someone after her promotion, though she didn't know who—and gave it to the landlady.
The landlady accepted it with a beaming smile, letting out an "Oh," and thought it was not surprising. A young girl like her, with money, would feel uncomfortable if she didn't spend it. It was normal that she couldn't bear to stay in the company dormitory. Moreover, here, every lady loved to introduce their own relatives' sons to her.
