The dinner party was held at one of New York's most prestigious hotels. Jenny used to think it was luxurious, but now she felt that such settings were all the same.
She arranged with the waiter to set up the round table seating, placing Emme, Monique, Cowens, and William at the same table. Behind them sat Mr. Densite and her seat, so with just a turn of her head, Jenny could introduce them to others.
Since she was being elevated to stir things up in the weekly, she couldn't be a lone commander. She needed to have her own people in the editorial department, and she had to cultivate them so they could compete with Clare.

She pondered this, then went to ask the waiter for the menu. Having eaten with the boss a few times and been at the same table many times, she roughly understood his tastes. She had the waiter replace all dishes with tomatoes on the menu.
