Chapter 53 (3)

Bo Xin changed from crossing her arms to leaning back. "So why are you telling me about the car?"

Ji Xingzhi tapped the steering wheel. "It's family assets. Of course I'm asking for your opinion. We can pick a style we both like."

Bo Xin didn't recall him consulting her the last time he bought a car.

But she felt gratified by his newfound awareness.

Bo Xin buckled her seatbelt. "Let's go together then."

Ji Xingzhi hesitated now that he'd brought it up. "Now?"

Bo Xin raised an eyebrow. What, tired from driving so long? She didn't mind switching.

She got out, signaling for Ji Xingzhi to leave the driver's seat.

Bo Xin: "I haven't been idle lately. For the kids' sake, I got my driver's license."

Ji Xingzhi tilted his head as Bo Xin smoothly pulled the car out, then tilted it again.

She really had good skills.

Ji Xingzhi didn't know Bo Xin had this skill. They had spent so little time together over the years.

In the end, they picked a popular model. Bo Xin liked cars that held their value and never went out of style. Ji Xingzhi patted the car, tested the performance, had no objections, and paid.

Soon it was time for the piano competition. The participants were mostly well-off and very focused on their children's development.

Compared to the calm contestant Bo Yuxu, the spectator Ji Yanyi was much more nervous.

He was clasping his hands in prayer, and what he prayed for was indeed something worth praying for.

He hoped Yuxu and Qiaozhe wouldn't meet early in the competition.

This binary elimination system really required that luck.

Moreover, Bo Xin noticed there was no second-chance round.

Indeed, competitions back then were simpler; later on, they got a lot more elaborate.

Besides that, Bo Xin also noticed some people were betting on the child contestants. 'Betting' might be too strong a word; it was more like adding a little extra incentive to support a favorite.

Bo Xin retracted her earlier comment about the competition being too simple.

When the matchup was announced, Ji Yanyi breathed a sigh of relief, and Bo Xin confidently placed her money on Bo Yuxu.

The manager advised, "But this opponent was in the top ten last time."

Bo Xin shrugged. "That's fine. Just think of it as me chasing the thrill."
