Chapter 56

Seeing this full defensive attitude, Butler Wang gritted his back teeth.

He could already feel the difficulty of the task.

The card in his hand had the Tao family's address and contact info.

But after the last incident, how could Bo Yuxu voluntarily call? It was already good of him not to avoid them and walk away directly.

The matter with the organizers had been directly reported to their master, and there had been similar incidents before.

Although he said the kid didn't seem like that kind of person, the higher-ups chose to take a cold approach, so they couldn't do anything extra.

Not unless they wanted to lose their jobs.

But he hadn't expected that two days later, Tao Lehua would actually ask about the course instructor.

He had never seen their young master take the initiative like this.

Butler Wang started thinking about the reason and finally noticed the spark of anticipation in Tao Lehua's eyes. The doll was placed on the piano stand. Apart from the original hope of reconciling his parents, their young master seemed to have other expectations.

Butler Wang told him about this. Tao Lehua held the doll, his face flushed red.

The doll that had fallen to the floor hadn't been picked up for a day.

The room was dark and narrow, but Tao Lehua liked this kind of environment. He could stay inside all day without feeling bored.

Chalk was his tool for recording notes on the wall. For easy cleaning, he had eventually turned the entire wall into a blackboard.

Because of his height, the space he could write on grew smaller and smaller. Finally, feeling cramped, he stopped.

Outside, people kept calling him. He covered his ears and pretended not to hear.

In the end, Butler Wang came. He didn't use the discarded doll but a new one—the most common rabbit glove from childhood.

Its red eyes stared straight at him.

As the notes jumped, the tune seemed to be Canon.

Because Tao Lehua's zodiac sign was the rabbit, the room was full of such dolls.

They were all made by his tailor.

After this ordeal, the heavy door was finally opened. Tao Lehua's voice was muffled. "Is it because of my father that you take such good care of me?"

As soon as he said it, he regretted it. Didn't everyone know this?

When he hid in the bushes, he had heard others talk about him, saying how troublesome he was.

Butler Wang opened his mouth, then closed it again.

'Although we take care of you because of this job, we truly treat you like our own child and therefore put in so much effort.'

That sounded a bit shameless, because they didn't dare to call themselves family with the young master. Also, to keep their jobs, they hadn't gone to the organizers to clarify.

They just did their assigned work and ignored the young master's feelings.

Now, facing Tao Lehua's sincere eyes, the gray-templed Butler Wang felt ashamed for the first time in his life. He was always seen as a sly old fox.

"Does the young master want Mr. Bo to teach? But I asked you before, and you said any age was fine."

Tao Lehua clenched his fingers, his head hanging low like a child who had done wrong, but with his own persistence and expectations.

After a long pause, he finally spoke.

"...I thought you understood me."

Butler Wang felt a strike to his heart, followed by a heavy sense of guilt. He seemed to have let down the child's high expectations.

Then came a strong sense of mission and a surge of boldness.

But considering reality, Butler Wang's excitement subsided. His eyes flickered, and he admitted, "It seems unlikely to have Mr. Bo come teach now."

Tao Lehua stammered for a long time, then bravely asked, "Why?"

Explaining was too difficult. The young master surely lacked the normal considerations of ordinary people, so Butler Wang simply stated the solution directly.

"Earlier, didn't Mr. Bo show interest in that doll? Maybe we can use that as an excuse to invite him to our house."

That tailor, maybe invite him home again someday.

"Will that work?"

Butler Wang felt uncertain but couldn't show it on his face. So he said firmly, "We can try!"

It was better than having him come as a teacher; otherwise, the outside world would start conspiring again.

So this time, Butler Wang felt he was on a mission.

"Our young master wants to invite you to our house. Do you remember that doll from last time?"

Bo Yuxu paused. He had no problem with Tao Lehua; he even thought he was quite nice. But he felt this family's way of handling things was problematic.

For now, he didn't want any contact with people outside of competitions.

"I remember, but I'm not that interested."

This was a clear dismissal. Butler Wang even felt lucky that he had mentioned their young master first—if he had said 'our family,' Bo Yuxu would have been even less polite.

"That doll artisan is really skilled. He can make one for your whole family too."
