Chapter 11 (3)

"I don't have that much money, and he can't pay right now either. How about letting him go first, and I'll help raise the money and bring it tomorrow?"

The yellow-haired man turned to the others with a smile. "This girl's got a good head on her."

The green-tipped man also smiled. "And she's pretty."

The only man sitting on the left, head down, remained silent.

"If you don't agree..."

Zeng Keqin pulled out her phone from her bag and showed them the screen, already dialing 110.

"I've set an emergency call. One press and the police will know my location. Do you want the ten thousand yuan, or do you want to go to the police station?"

The room fell silent instantly.

"You bluffing me?"

"You can try. Three adult men and one girl. Who do you think the police will believe?"

The green-tipped man started to stand up.

Just then, the man on the left stood up first. "Brother Jin, let it go."

The yellow-haired man glanced at him and gritted his teeth. "Fine, take him away."

Zeng Keqin first stuffed Jiang Shiyu's phone from the table into her canvas bag, then struggled to help him up. But he was too heavy; she couldn't lift him, and they fell back onto the sofa. His head lolled to the side, his breath on her wrist, uncomfortably hot.

"Let me."

The man who had spoken up for her helped lift Jiang Shiyu off the sofa.

Zeng Keqin moved to the side, supporting the other side.

They walked out of the KTV. The sky had darkened. She hailed a taxi and stuffed Jiang Shiyu into the back seat.

Before closing the door, Zeng Keqin asked, "What's your name?"

The guy—crew cut, single eyelids, fierce-looking but with a gentle vibe—glanced at Jiang Shiyu in the back seat. "Zhang Kang."

"I'm Zeng Keqin. Thank you for today."

She closed the door. The driver asked, "Where to?"

"J University North Gate."

Zeng Keqin leaned back in her seat, finally exhaling. Her palms were sweaty, her legs still shaking.

She pulled out her phone and sent a message to Wang Chunyue: [It's fine. I'll be back at the dorm soon.]

Wang Chunyue: [What were you doing???]

Zeng Keqin: [Went to find a friend.]

She turned her head to look at Jiang Shiyu.

He was slouched in the seat, his face flushed, but his breathing was steadier than before. His long eyelashes cast a shadow, his lips naturally closed in a slight pout. At this angle, he looked...

Cute.

Just as she thought that, his closed eyes suddenly opened.

A pair of watery, black eyes stared fixedly at her.
