The black helmet hid his flamboyant red hair, revealing only a pair of narrow, deep-set dark eyes.
The setting sun fell on him, enveloping him in an orange glow. He looked handsome, arrogant, and cool, like the male lead stepping out of a drama.
"Who's that? So handsome!"
"But isn't he a bit too flashy? Is he here to pick up his girlfriend?"
Zeng Keqin lowered her head, instinctively wanting to turn and leave.
But the person behind her gave her no chance to escape.
"Zeng Keqin."
He got off the motorcycle, took off his leather gloves, and extended a hand. "My phone?"
"Here."
She shoved the phone into his palm, then turned and walked toward the bus stop, not wanting to stay a second longer.
Every time he appeared, he attracted a lot of attention, dragging her into the spotlight as well.
A white helmet was tossed her way. She caught it hastily.
"Get on."
Zeng Keqin looked at the helmet in her hands, then at the flashy motorcycle. She was about to hand it back.
"I've already gotten the delivery records. The earlier we go, the sooner we can investigate."
More and more people were coming out of the elevator. She saw Lawyer Zou and Qiao Meng, arm in arm with Su Wanyi, heading this way. Zeng Keqin quickly put on the helmet.
"Let's go."
She climbed onto the back seat. It was her first time on a motorcycle, and she didn't know where to put her hands. Finally, she grabbed the hem of Jiang Shiyu's jacket.
"Hold on tight. Don't fall off."
The motorcycle emitted a low roar and suddenly shot forward.
Zeng Keqin closed her eyes in fright. The wind roared in her ears, her hair flying wildly, blurring her vision.
It was her first time on a motorcycle, weaving through traffic. It didn't feel bad—actually, a bit thrilling. As they went down a slope, the bike tilted, and a strong sense of weightlessness made her instinctively hug the person in front.
His waist was slimmer than she imagined, with firm muscles and no extra fat.
Jiang Shiyu stared ahead when suddenly a pair of hands tightly encircled his waist, followed by a softness pressing against his back.
His heart tightened, his body instinctively straightening. He leaned forward slightly, putting some distance between them.
Zeng Keqin thought he didn't like being touched, so she let go and grabbed the sides of his jacket instead, shifting back a little.
A cool breeze instantly rushed between them.
"We're here."
The motorcycle stopped in front of a teaching building.
Zeng Keqin was still immersed in the weightlessness and got off dazedly.
Jiang Shiyu took off his helmet, revealing a striking face with strong features.
He wasn't wearing any makeup, completely bare-faced, yet he still caught the eye.
They entered a data room.
Jiang Shiyu turned on a computer and logged into a system she had never seen before.
"What's this?"
"The school's internal logistics system. The delivery records are here."
"How can you access it?"
"I used to design merchandise and posters for the school. The information center granted me permissions."
Zeng Keqin nodded, remembering what Wu Mengting had said in the cafeteria.
"Don't just stand there. Let's look together."
Jiang Shiyu pointed to the computer next to him.
The screen was filled with dense data tables.
The volume of packages during Double Eleven was staggering—over three thousand across three collection points combined.
They searched from evening until late into the night, their eyes blurry. Even if they worked nonstop, it would take ten days to half a month.
Over the next few days, Zeng Keqin arrived at the data room every evening on time. Jiang Shiyu was always there earlier, with two cups of coffee already set on the table.
"Qinqin, why have you been coming back so late these days? Are you in trouble?"
"Yeah, you have dark circles."
Zeng Keqin flopped onto her bed, wanting nothing more than to fall asleep immediately. As soon as she closed her eyes, all she saw were phone numbers and pickup codes.
No! She couldn't give up!
She got out of bed, washed her face, and changed clothes.
