Liu Ying pressed on. “Is he amazing?”
“He’s incredibly amazing! The entire Fine Arts department knows him! He signed with one of the top three advertising agencies in the country as a freshman. That popular milk ad on TV? He wrote the tagline. And our school paper—he re-did everything from layout to column planning, and the circulation increased tenfold.”
Wang Chunyue’s mouth fell open. “That impressive?”
“You bet! But he’s been living off campus since he enrolled, and he’s a year ahead of us. He doesn’t show up on campus much, and he even picks and chooses which major classes to attend, so it’s normal you don’t know him.”
“Then why did he suddenly move back?”
“Isn’t he about to graduate? Probably came back to prepare his graduation project. My boyfriend shares a dorm with him. He said the whole dorm was dumbstruck when Jiang Shen walked in.”
Wang Chunyue listened intently. “What does he look like?”
“Tall and handsome! And his fashion sense is amazing! I’ve never seen a better-looking guy. If he lives on campus, girls would probably queue up from the dorm building to outside the school!”
“Does he have a girlfriend?”
“Probably not. He’s too busy…”
Zeng Keqin picked up a piece of greens and put it in her mouth.
No wonder he always dressed so flashy—turns out he was an art student.
She suddenly felt that the mysterious veil over him was being lifted piece by piece, and each time exceeded her expectations.
“Look, look! Jiang Shen is in the cafeteria!!!”
The previously noisy cafeteria fell silent instantly. Many turned their heads to watch.
Jiang Shiyu carried his tray, his reddish-brown bangs falling over his forehead, concealing the wound on his brow. The band-aid at the corner of his mouth was already removed, revealing a dark red scab that somehow didn’t look out of place.
Three guys followed behind him.
Qian Bo had sharp eyes. He spotted Wu Mengting not far away and nudged Jiang Shiyu with his elbow. “My girlfriend’s over there. Brother Jiang, want to sit there?”
Jiang Shiyu followed his gaze.
A long-haired girl waved enthusiastically. Beside her sat a few other girls, one of them with her head down.
“Whatever.”
Qian Bo immediately jogged over with his tray and plopped down next to Wu Mengting. “Tingting, you look even prettier than yesterday.”
“You’re such a smooth talker.” Wu Mengting scolded playfully, then looked past him. “Jiang Shen! Sit here, sit here!”
The seat happened to be right across from Zeng Keqin.
Wang Chunyue had been eating with her head down. She looked up at the commotion, stared at the face across from her, studying it. The more she looked, the more familiar it seemed.
Suddenly, her eyes widened.
“Th-th-this—”
Before she could finish, someone kicked her lightly on the shin.
Liu Ying shot her a meaningful look, clearly recognizing him too.
Wang Chunyue quickly stole a glance at Zeng Keqin.
Zeng Keqin was eating with her head down, seemingly unaware that someone had sat across from her.
Wu Mengting didn’t notice the undercurrent. She linked her arm with Qian Bo’s. “Let me introduce you all—this is my boyfriend, Qian Bo, from the Computer Science department, same dorm as Jiang Shen.”
Qian Bo smiled shyly at the girls.
“And this is…” Wang Chunyue looked at the guy who had just sat down. He was fair and delicate, with a scholarly air.
“I’m Liao Junyu. Also from Computer Science.”
A slightly chubby guy beside him spoke up cheerfully, “I’m Dong Liang. You can call me Fatty or Brother Liang, just don’t call me ‘Know-It-All’! I actually know nothing!”
That got a laugh from the table, instantly lightening the atmosphere.
Wu Mengting seized the moment and introduced them one by one. “This is Wang Chunyue, Liu Ying, Fang Yu, and this beautiful lady is Zeng Keqin, a top student from the Law School.”
Qian Bo nodded politely. “Nice to meet you all.”
Liao Junyu suddenly spoke. “I know you.”
He was looking at Zeng Keqin.
Suddenly, everyone’s eyes turned to the two of them.
Zeng Keqin looked up and studied him carefully. He looked familiar, but she couldn’t place him.
Liao Junyu kindly reminded her, “We’re in the same club.”
“The Reading Club.”
Zeng Keqin had a sudden realization. “Sorry about that.”
Liao Junyu smiled, unbothered. “No problem. You always have your head in a book when you come. It’s normal not to remember, since we haven’t talked much.”
Zeng Keqin pressed her lips together. As she withdrew her gaze—
She met a pair of dark, heavy eyes.
Jiang Shiyu was looking at her with an appraising expression.
