Chapter 6: "Basic Creations?" "..."

"Basic Creations?"

"Yes," Dr. Sun explained. "Actually, I've had this idea ever since I talked with Professor Hu half a month ago."

"In one month, the Spiritist Federation Grand Prix will begin. In the preliminaries, the Creations used by contestants are all provided by the officials, so the Spiritist Association will place a large number of Basic Creation orders to various Creation studios before the competition."

"Forging Creations consumes Spiritual Power. For this kind of political task, Creation studios usually assign it to apprentices or outsource it."

Dr. Sun chuckled. "I happen to have a friend who helps studios find apprentices and low-level Artificers. If you want to do it, I can sign you up."

An interstellar version of a headhunter.

Chu Ran asked, "What are the qualification criteria?"

The Basic Creations used in the preliminaries must have quality requirements.

"There are requirements for durability and size," Dr. Sun said without hiding anything. "Durability needs to reach B-rank, meaning it can be used by a B-rank Spiritist for over fifteen days. The size needs to be no less than five times the original size."

"Don't worry, even beginners can quickly meet this requirement."

"If you want to do it, I can ask my friend to send you some Black Divine Stone first."

Chu Ran agreed decisively.

This job was essentially free skill training, which suited her perfectly.

"Actually, there's one more thing," Dr. Sun hesitated. "I once read a paper saying that Divine Stone can increase human Spiritual Power, but there hasn't been a successful case yet."

"Both the Divine Fruit and the Divine Stone come from the Divine Tomb. Maybe your Spiritual Power has the potential to grow through this method."

"What about those who awakened Spiritual Power through the Divine Fruit? Can't they?" Chu Ran seized the key point. "Their Spiritual Power also comes from the Divine Fruit."

"No," Dr. Sun said dejectedly. "Professor Hu even helped me contact someone whose final awakening only reached C-rank Spiritual Power. The experiment lasted a year, with no growth at all. I even had to pay him compensation for psychological trauma."

Chu Ran: .......

"So you want to use my test results to write a paper?"

"Oh, well..." Dr. Sun's expression was conflicted. "I do have that idea..."

But the Federation gave up on Chu Ran because her Spiritual Power could only recover to E-rank. If there was a possibility of improvement, things would be different.

After a long silence, Dr. Sun said dejectedly, "I'm just giving you a method. You can know the results yourself, no need to tell me."

Otherwise, tempted by the top journal "New Life," he couldn't guarantee he'd keep his conscience.

Ah, life was so hard. Dr. Sun sniffled inwardly. He was only one top-tier journal paper away from the Central Medical College advanced training program, but after so many years, he had failed repeatedly.

Chu Ran's eyes curved. She patted Dr. Sun's shoulder firmly. "I will repay your kindness, Dr. Sun."

"No need. Just finish the last five days of medication. I estimate this project paper should be able to land a B-level journal." Dr. Sun wiped the tears in his heart and said strongly.

Chu Ran agreed without hesitation.

However, when emotions run high, it's easy to make low-level mistakes.

The next day.

Chu Ran's face turned green looking at the cup in front of her.

Black particles floated in the light blue liquid. Even from five meters away, she could smell the stench of food left out for over ten days.

The nurse had to hold the cup with one hand and pinch her nose with the other, coaxing her like the Big Bad Wolf persuading Little Red Riding Hood: "Come on, drink it."

"I... ugh!" Chu Ran couldn't help dry heaving.

The nurse was iron-hearted. Instead of stepping back, she thrust the cup right in front of Chu Ran. "Hang in there. Dr. Sun said you agreed."

Chu Ran held her breath, eyes unfocused. "This is emotional fraud."

Only five days left, and they changed the formula!

"Professor Hu, upon hearing that you wanted to become an Artificer, personally guided Dr. Sun in improving this potion," the nurse said, subtly leaning her head back. "It's full of their affection for you."

"Couldn't he smell it when he was making it?!" Chu Ran was distraught.

The nurse continued to lean her head back while pushing the cup forward. "Dr. Sun wore a scent filter."

Damn!

Chu Ran was in despair.

She stared at the blue potion. The stench soaked into her body. Endure for a moment, and the sky will open wide. Endure for wealth. Endure for fame and success. Endure and... ugh!

"Chu Ran, you promised me," Dr. Sun said pitifully from the doorway, wearing a mask. "This cup costs twenty thousand carats."

Sitting in the ward, Chu Ran exchanged a painful look with Dr. Sun. After a long while, she reached out with the determination of one facing death and downed it in one gulp.

Thirty thousand carats—can't waste it.

After forcing down the last sip of the potion, Chu Ran fainted in peace.

A shadow deep in her heart trembled.

"Chu Ran!"

Dr. Sun let out a scream like a chicken.

When she opened her eyes again, it was the familiar hospital light.
