Chapter 20: The Battle Ends ( (4)

In the live feed, a humanoid Zerg jumped down from the sky.

Compared to the previous ordinary Zerg, its appearance was much more refined. From a distance, it was hard to tell it apart from a human.

It had double pupils in its eyes, gray-white fuzz covering its skin, and some spikes growing on the sides of its neck.

The surroundings fell into silence—or rather, everyone in the Seventh Sub-Star watching the live broadcast fell silent.

A-class Zerg, Venomous Wasp.

An A-class Zerg had appeared at this point. The enormous shadow waiting outside the space rift could only be...

S-class Zerg.

At the Chu residence.

Old Master Chu, who had kicked Chu Heng into a corner, stared at the live broadcast with a terrifying expression, his breathing rapid.

He took several deep breaths to calm down, then said to Chu Heng, "Go upstairs and take the things hidden behind my bookshelf. Then take Chu Zhen and immediately head to the starport. Go to the Sixth Sub-Star to meet up with your elder brother."

For the first time, he felt grateful that he had arranged for his eldest son to be on the Sixth Sub-Star. That way, not all of the Chu family would die in this Zerg invasion. And with Chu Zhen, the next generation of the Chu family had hope!

Chu Heng slowly got up from the floor, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. His gaze lingered on the live broadcast.

Perhaps knowing that this scene would have a huge impact on ordinary citizens, the broadcast switched back to Aunt Huang's side.

Standing beside Aunt Huang was the slender and fragile Chu Ran.

Old Master Chu also saw Chu Ran. His tone was somewhat complex. "She has the same bad luck as her mother."

Chu Heng staggered to his feet and silently walked upstairs. His black hair fell over his face, making him look like a demon climbing out of hell.

The arrival of an A-class Zerg made Lei Jianguo unable to spare any attention for the remaining ordinary Zerg. For a moment, military casualties increased rapidly.

Aunt Huang placed the Light Brain in Chu Ran's hand, gripped her long blade, and charged forward.

Aunt Wang, on the other hand, secretly took out a tube of black liquid from the house, which gave off an ominous feeling.

"No, don't drink it!" Wang Ping'an fell to his knees in despair, his face filled with grief.

He knew what that potion his grandmother took out was. Drinking this potion would stimulate the maximum biological potential of a human, but when all the energy was exhausted, death would follow.

It was one of the most precious potions of the Explorer Association.

He watched Aunt Wang drink it all, wailing loudly.

He Qishen and his sister sat quietly beside him.

Not far away, several extremely powerful auras lurked in the darkness.

"Should we act?"

"S-class Zerg. I'm afraid that kid Lei Jianguo can't handle it."

"We can't act even if everyone here dies on Old Street today."

"You know why we're here."

"The appearance of that S-class Zerg might just be a probe."

"Huang Ni is your cousin, isn't she? You're not going to help?"

"Federation above all."

He Qishen moved his ears, a faint trace of mockery appearing in his eyes.

Chu Ran looked at the last few familiar people around her, then turned and ran without looking back toward the front line of the battlefield. She touched her heart, injected her Spiritual Power into the black staff, and charged into the fight.

Golden light tore through the darkness, like the dawn before the dark night.

The Spiritist Association members also emerged from the space transfer gate and joined the battle.

In the sky, lightning formed a giant net trapping the Venomous Wasp. The Cyan Long Spear, carrying an aura of destruction, stabbed straight at the Venomous Wasp's heart.

The Venomous Wasp raised its hands. Black mist rolled in like many black serpents, intertwining with the lightning serpents, devouring and tearing at each other.

A long stinger from its neck shot out violently, colliding with the tip of the Cyan Long Spear. The impact was as terrifying as a dragon splitting the earth. Intense air currents rolled and spread, knocking ordinary Zerg and soldiers off their feet.

At this moment, another figure descended from the space rift.

It was pitch black with a metallic luster. Multiple arms protruded outward with sharp bee stingers. A single touch could scrape off a piece of flesh.

Lei Jianguo dodged but failed, resulting in a huge wound on his waist.

Another A-class Zerg, the Blade Ant.

Aunt Huang had just chopped off the head of a C-class Zerg when she saw the Blade Ant's sharp arm heading straight for Lei Jianguo's head.

"Dodge!" she shouted, gathering all her remaining Spiritual Power into her long blade. Flames instantly erupted, burning with an aura of consuming everything, and she slashed at the Blade Ant.

This blow exhausted all of Aunt Huang's energy.

The moment her long blade blocked the Blade Ant's arm, a venomous stinger pierced her heart.

"Aunt Huang!" Chu Ran's pupils contracted. Her staff grew rapidly, flipping over all the surrounding Zerg Beasts and Zerg in one go.

Her eyes turned bloodshot, and a huge fox phantom appeared behind her.

Lei Jianguo was greatly alarmed. Lightning and thunder erupted in fury, like a divine punishment, carrying the aura of destruction as they bombarded all the Zerg.
