Chapter 29: Forum

The chef's daughter arrived quickly.

Her petite figure was carrying a large bag of food and lunged toward Chu Ran.

Chu Ran hurriedly bent down, grabbing her hand to keep the bag from flying off due to inertia.

The girl easily placed the large bag on the table, then circled around Chu Ran, stars in her eyes. "Ahhhhh, I actually get to see you!"

Jian obediently and quietly walked to the table, digging into the bag.

The girl bounced in place, leaned close to Chu Ran, blinked, and asked cautiously, "Can I hug you?"

Chu Ran thought for a moment, then opened her arms and actively hugged the girl.

The girl's ears instantly turned red as if bleeding. She took the initiative and hugged Chu Ran tightly around the waist. "I like you so much! I even printed out your news photos and pasted them by my bed."

Chu Ran said helplessly, "I feel like I've become a big star."

"You are a big star," the girl said, hugging Chu Ran and rubbing her head fiercely, chuckling. "I also printed out all the reports about you on StarNet and made a physical collection book."

Speaking of which, the girl suddenly raised her head. "Sister, is Chang He really your ex-boyfriend? He gave you the Divine Fruit!"

???

The corner of Chu Ran's mouth twitched.

"No."

The girl, satisfied, let go of her. "I knew it wasn't. You two don't look like a couple."

"I think the young Commander Lei suits you!"

Jian was quietly eating in the corner; upon hearing that, she almost choked.

Chu Ran's face darkened, remembering how she felt when she first saw the Fudai CP.

Everything can be shipped.

After the girl left contentedly, Jian obediently handed Chu Ran a meal. "Eat? The chef gave you a special treat—there's a lot we didn't order."

Compensating for the emotional damage.

Chu Ran took the boxed lunch expressionlessly, set it aside decisively, and chose to first open her Light Brain to search for her own bizarre news.

Seeing this, Jian quietly sat beside her, put down her food, leaned in to watch together, and even guided her on how to find the most outrageous gossip. "No, no, you can't search on the official site. Click on the forum in the bottom right corner—yes, that one. This is where students from the three training institutes communicate. It should have all the weird news."

Chu Ran followed her instructions and entered, finding many posts with bizarre titles, but none about herself.

"Oh, probably in the private section," Jian said confidently.

She looked down at her own Light Brain and sent Chu Ran an invitation code.

"Select the private section, then enter my exclusive invitation code."

Chu Ran paused, then followed the steps and successfully entered the private section.

Inside, there wasn't just any content—it even had three major sections dedicated to her: Growth History, Romantic Secrets, and Combat Analysis.

The corner of Chu Ran's mouth twitched. Quite detailed?

Most importantly...

"You seem very familiar with this," she said suspiciously to Jian.

"Everyone loves gossip. Of course, I've been busy lately and haven't read yours yet, I promise." Jian's harmless face showed sincerity.

The private romance section involved a variety of people. Not only Chang He, but every good-looking guy on the Seventh Sub-Star was compared, and there was even a post seriously analyzing who was more competitive—the young Lei Jianguo or Edwood.

Jian couldn't help widening her eyes. She turned back to Chu Ran and asked gossipily, "Who do you think is more charming? I've never seen President Edwood in person."

Her response was Chu Ran's death glare.

Chu Ran expressionlessly shoved the food Jian had set aside into her hands. "Eat your food and stop gossiping."

Jian nodded dejectedly and obediently ate.

Chu Ran sat aside and continued browsing the posts.

Compared to the romance section, the Growth History section was much more realistic—at least the posts included photos of her.

Chu Ran picked up her food and ate while reading.

She had been in this world for half a year but had never been able to seriously learn about the original owner's growth history.

She had no memories of the original owner, nor had she found anyone who had grown up with her. Because of the diary, she had initially thought the original owner was a timid and silent person, but later she discovered the original owner was different from her imagination—very strong.

Chu Ran wanted to know the reason for the original owner's suicide.

She specifically picked posts with photos to read.

There were many photos of the original owner before the age of seven.

There were photos of her birthday, photos of her going out. In every one, she wore expensive clothes and smiled like a little princess with her parents.

The other people in the photos were full of smiles, but occasionally a few failed to hide their expressions, clearly captured. The way they looked at the original owner truly showed three parts envy, three parts jealousy, and four parts disdain.

After age seven, there were very few photos, even little news—mostly hearsay or occasional sightings at banquets. By then, few people paid attention to the original owner. All focus shifted to her half-sister, who had S-level spiritual power.

Chu Ran flipped through several pages and found a post with a sensational title.
