Chapter 18 (4)

As their eyes met, Song Guanyu's eyes were red and teary. He panicked.

"Why are you crying?"

Hearing his familiar voice, her nose stung, and tears slid down her cheeks.

"Ye Yansheng, I want a divorce."

Ye Yansheng paused, his eyes darkening. "I won't divorce you."

His indifferent tone made her feel even more wronged. He was cheating, yet he wouldn't let her divorce him.

She straddled his waist, pressing her face against his neck, sobbing. "Your child is already so big! You keep a woman abroad! You three are a happy family! I followed you all afternoon! You said you were going abroad for a meeting—it was all a lie!"

Ye Yansheng seemed to realize something. He held her shoulders and pushed her back a little. "Xiaodai, look at me." Song Guanyu, half-closed eyes, looked up and met his smile. She was genuinely angry now, trying to get off him, but he held her waist firmly.

Then, with one hand cupping her face, he touched the tip of her nose and asked softly, "My cousin said a sapphire blue car followed us all the way. Was that you driving?"

"Yes. What's wrong with me stalking my cheating husband?" She said it with conviction, not noticing he had said 'cousin'.

Case closed. Ye Yansheng suddenly laughed. Seeing fresh tears pool in Song Guanyu's eyes, he quickly explained.

"Ye Siyuan is my cousin. After the meeting, I happened to run into her on the street, and we had dinner together. The child in my arms was the little girl I told you about before who always pesters me to braid her hair—she's my cousin's daughter."

"Cousin?"

"Mm. I sent you a message after the meeting. Didn't you see it?"

Song Guanyu hadn't had a chance to look; her phone was on silent.

But she still asked the question that bothered her. "I saw her touch your forehead."

"She saw I had a fever. I've been close with her since I was a child. Whenever I got sick, she would worry. Even now that I'm grown up, she hasn't been able to shake that habit."

Hearing that he was sick, Song Guanyu immediately stopped being angry. She opened her moist eyes and looked at him, reaching up to touch his forehead and face. No wonder he felt different than usual when she had pounced on him. Usually, his body was cool; now it was hot.

She realized she had misunderstood and immediately apologized. After apologizing, she asked if he had taken his medicine and how serious it was.

Ye Yansheng kissed the corner of her eye, wiping away her tears. "I took medicine after the plane landed. I just ordered some online; it hasn't arrived yet." The breath from his lips was hot. Song Guanyu had never taken care of anyone before. She lowered her eyes and cupped his face, wanting to kiss him, but he turned away.

He said, "I might pass it on to you." Truth be told, he had wanted to kiss her the moment he saw her, but he held back. Now, with the little radish head cupping his face and wanting to kiss him so softly, he felt a flood of emotion inside him.

His Adam's apple bobbed, and he leaned forward slightly, kissing her forehead.

"Can I make it up to you when I'm better?"

His eyes were as deep as the ocean, and she willingly let herself be captivated. Her heartbeat quickened, and her breathing followed suit.

Song Guanyu grabbed his hand and pressed it against her chest. His palm was engulfed in softness, and his dark eyes grew darker. "You—"

"Dr. Ye, feel my heartbeat. Isn't it fast?" she asked, frowning.

Ye Yansheng felt it seriously and nodded. "Mm. Very fast."

"Then am I sick?"

Ye Yansheng burst out laughing. He pinched her cheek and rubbed it. "Mm. You are indeed sick." With his pinch, her lips naturally formed an 'O' shape. He added, "Song Xiaodai, you've contracted a disease—a disease where your heart beats fast for Ye Yansheng whenever you see him."

"Xiaodai, you've fallen for me. Otherwise, why would you fly into a rage when you see me with another woman and come charging over to settle the score?" He glanced over her shoulder at her pitiful little suitcase. "And you brought a suitcase. Were you planning to take me by force, pack me in the suitcase, and dump my body in the wilderness?"

The smile on his lips never stopped. He kept teasing her.

Song Guanyu wanted to shut him up. She acted on it.

She put some strength into her hands and forcibly turned his face, pressing her lips to his. Just like how he kissed her before, she licked the seam of his lips carefully.

Ye Yansheng's hand on her waist tightened instantly.

His lack of cooperation annoyed her. She released his lips and first kissed his earlobe. The man's breathing grew heavier. Then she moved down to his Adam's apple, licked the black mole beside his pulse, and bit down gently. The mole turned red, satisfied.

She let go of him, leaned her head into the hollow of his shoulder, wrapped her arms around his neck, and nuzzled him.

"Xiaodai, you—" Her actions made him even hotter. Before he could finish, she interrupted.

"Dr. Ye, I missed you so much. I wanted you to kiss me and hold me. We've been apart for twenty-eight hours, thirty-five minutes, and forty seconds. I really missed you."

"Don't you miss me? Dr. Ye." She looked up at him deeply, her eyes filled with extreme longing.

She continued seductively, "Dr. Ye, I think it's time. I want all of you, including your body... Can you give it to me?"

As she said this, her voice trembled—a subconscious fear of the unknown that was about to happen.

She was both anticipating and fearing.

Under the dim light, tears still stained Song Guanyu's cheeks, but it didn't diminish her beauty. Her eyelashes lowered, avoiding his gaze, but her words were so intense.

She was conveying to Ye Yansheng how much she liked him.

The taut string in his mind was completely severed by her soft, whispery voice.

He pressed her firmly against him, their bodies flush. His bare upper body against her thin clothes, the slight friction of fabric against skin, immediately raised his body temperature.

His hot lips finally met hers, burning her so that she trembled in his arms. She accepted his fierce kiss, thinking, This is the feeling—being unreservedly liked by him.

She leaned back a little from his kiss, her shoulders shrinking, her collarbone sinking deeper. He chased after her lips, another kiss full of passion, sucking sounds lingering.

After kissing for a while, he loosened his hold to let her breathe. She panted heavily.

New York's night was quiet, with the occasional faint sound of car horns outside. The skyscrapers' neon lights refracted through the hotel's sheer curtains, casting shadows over the figures on the sofa.
