Song Huaizhi's voice was loud in the corridor. Ye Yansheng was furious.
He simply told Song Huaizhi to get lost.
Then he asked Zhou Shanli, "What's up?"
Zhou Shanli replied directly, "Actually, nothing much. Tomorrow's meeting is canceled. Professor Kas has an emergency and has to return to Germany, so our academic conference is suspended. We're heading back to China too. I sent you a message this afternoon, but you didn't reply."
Zhou Shanli finished and started to pull Song Huaizhi away. He hadn't wanted to come up in the first place. This guy was really dense. Zhou Shanli had figured it out that morning—what cousin and cousin held hands like that? It was obviously the newlyweds' little game. Only Song Huaizhi was too dumb to notice.
Ye Yansheng nodded. "Anything else?"
"No. I'll take him away. You go ahead." Zhou Shanli smiled knowingly. "Our flight is the day after tomorrow. You have all of tomorrow."
The intruders were finally gone.
Ye Yansheng closed the door, inserted the room card, and a soft, dim light filled the room. The air conditioning began to run, and a faint fragrance from the diffuser started to permeate the space.
The view from the room was excellent. In the morning, you could see the most beautiful sunrise; at night, the stars twinkled. Ye Yansheng stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking out at the towering skyscrapers and the dazzling neon lights of the CBD.
From the fifty-second floor, the cars on the road below looked tiny. These tiny lights formed an extremely decadent picture. The cars moved slowly, and the vibrant nightlife was just beginning. Now, with his lover by his side, the night was enchanting, like the city lights coming on, intoxicating and seductive.
Today, with Song Guanyu, he had experienced many things he had never seen before, breaking his usual routine life. Ye Yansheng used to hope for a stable life, but Song Guanyu was bright and brilliant, injecting him with a new vitality.
It was a very special feeling. He began to try the foods she liked and attempted to understand her music. All these things were incredibly wonderful.
In the past, his understanding of marriage was simple: mutual respect and harmony, even without love.
But now, he only wanted to say:
Life without love was truly too empty.
Because spending a lifetime with someone you love is truly beautiful. Song Guanyu's kiss of luck had come true—his luck in life was meeting Song Guanyu.
Ye Yansheng looked at the large floor-to-ceiling window. Those inside could see everything outside, but those outside could only see darkness. He turned his head to hear the sound of water from the bathroom, making his throat dry.
He smiled, quickly unbuttoned the remaining buttons of his shirt, and tossed it aside. He also unbuttoned his trousers. Then, bare-chested, he stepped into the bathroom.
He stopped hesitating. He was going to love his wife well.
In the bathroom, Song Guanyu had almost finished showering. But Ye Yansheng, perhaps busy with something, still hadn't joined her for a bath. Usually, he would help her scrub her back, but now she couldn't quite reach.
Suddenly, a hand with thin calluses touched her fair, slender back. She was startled.
Before she could make a sound, Ye Yansheng covered her neck and pressed firmly. Song Guanyu fell back against his chest, her long neck arching gracefully. He turned his head, half-lidded eyes kissing her lips, red from the steam. His other hand reached forward, steadily covering her rapidly beating heart.
As if calming her, telling it to slow down.
Song Guanyu felt his hand, her legs trembling. She looked at the soft yellow light above, half-closing her eyes. Droplets of water wet her lashes, sliding down from the corners of her eyes. She parted her lips, letting his tongue roam inside. Then she closed her eyes and tangled her tongue with his. The kiss lasted only a moment. Ye Yansheng released her and turned her to face him. The showerhead rained down on him, soaking his black hair.
In the misty bathroom, she felt his lips land elsewhere, very light and gentle. She felt like crying.
The sound of water grew louder. Song Guanyu, drowsy, was flushed.
When Ye Yansheng pressed her onto the bed, his eyes were red—a sign of extreme restraint. Song Guanyu lay on the soft sheets, panting, a shimmer of moisture in her eyes.
Ye Yansheng picked up a small box from the bedside table and opened it. Song Guanyu saw him take out a square paper packet. His eyes, dark and deep, fixed on her on the bed. The red ribbon was tied around her slender waist, the fair skin contrasting with the vivid red, an exquisite beauty. Ye Yansheng's eyes were also red.
She lay there, so beautiful. Her thick, black hair was spread across the pillow. Her eyes were full of him.
A lamp with tassels on the bedside table cast a soft glow, illuminating her body beautifully.
Song Guanyu felt shy under his gaze and tried to cover herself. Ye Yansheng blocked her hand. "Beautiful," he rasped. Then the wrapper rustled. She watched him tear it open with his teeth. The sight made her breath quicken. This was a side of him she had never seen, and it inexplicably made her fearful, as his eyes were full of aggression. Before she could think further, Ye Yansheng slowly leaned over her.
As their skin touched, both shuddered.
Just as Ye Yansheng was about to proceed, Song Guanyu suddenly said, "Do we have to wear this?" Wouldn't wearing it mean they weren't truly connected?
Ye Yansheng paused. "Do you want a big baby to have a little baby?" Seeing her conflicted expression, his heart pounded.
She seemed to actually think it over. "If it's with you... I could. And I really like children."
Ye Yansheng's eyes softened. He touched her earlobe and chuckled softly. "Wait a few years. When you're ready to be a mother, we'll talk about it."
Song Guanyu nodded, trembling as she said, "Okay."
Their breaths drew closer. Love shone in their eyes. Song Guanyu stared at Ye Yansheng without blinking. In her eyes, a brilliant sea of red flowers bloomed.
His lips met hers. One hand firmly gripped her ankle. Her toes curled. His forehead was taut, and the mist from his temples formed beads of sweat that rolled down.
His back was fully tensed, veins bulging on his arms. They were exploring each other anew.
After much effort and gradual adjustment, when the pain faded into a new, subtle sensation, Ye Yansheng laced his fingers with Song Guanyu's. He kissed her neck softly, murmuring, "Xiaodai, do you want a pendant?" Song Guanyu was dizzy and disoriented, seemingly dissatisfied that he had stopped. She wiggled, her voice alluring, "What pendant?"
Suddenly, he shifted his hips, changing their positions. Both of them let out a sigh. Ye Yansheng's Adam's apple bobbed rapidly as he restrained himself.
He tilted his head back, looking up at her with dark, deep eyes. "This kind of pendant, Song Xiaodai." In the shift, Song Guanyu arched her back, the red ribbon around her waist creating ripples in the air, loose and suggestive.
Her seaweed-like thick black hair was casually gathered to one side by Ye Yansheng.
Her entire slender spine stood out, the butterfly bones on her healthy back prominent—exquisitely sexy. A few strands of damp hair clung to her sweaty back, creating an alluring intimacy.
Ye Yansheng's eyes were fixed on the full-length mirror in the hotel room, which faced the center of the bed. Their reflections were fully captured in the mirror. He saw her under his guidance, the dimples on her lower back deepening and trembling, sometimes relaxed, sometimes tense—like a perfect painting.
He leaned forward slightly, making her quiver. Her small hands pressed against his solid chest, her nails digging into his muscles.
Seeing her furrowed brow when she was aroused, the tip of her nose red, her lashes wet with moisture, her breathing uneven—this shift made them perfectly aligned, reaching a new level.
They were exploring a new realm.
