Facing them was the giant black python that had appeared in the surveillance footage earlier.
The python was surrounded by the supervisors, who concentrated their attacks. Even as it dodged, some attacks landed on it. In pain, its counterattacks became even more reckless and狂暴, forcing the supervisors to retreat step by step.
At that moment, Bai Lin transformed into his dragon form again, wrapped his tail around Huangfu Jun's waist, and placed her on his head like the other supervisors.
Huangfu Jun gasped, hurriedly grabbing the dragon horns like two climbing sticks, her legs still a bit weak.
They flew to the front of the phantom beast formation, staring down the black python with wide eyes.
Huangfu Jun took a deep breath: Although she had imagined standing atop the dragon's head, holding the horns, now was not the time for that! Big shots were about to clash—could they please put her down first?
Before Huangfu Jun could think further, the black python saw Bai Lin and its eyes instantly turned red. It let out a huge roar and attacked Bai Lin.
Despite its massive body, it moved swiftly and agilely. In the blink of an eye, it was in front of Bai Lin, rearing up high, opening its massive jaws to reveal sharp fangs, and lunging at him fiercely.
Facing the abyssal maw, Huangfu Jun was nearly fainted by the stench before she could die of fright. She dug her nails deep into the dragon's horns, leaning back in a tactical retreat.
Bai Lin agilely dodged the python's fangs, spewing a cloud of mist to obscure its vision. The seven half-demon phantom beasts took advantage to complete their positions in a Big Dipper formation, like an inverted ladle, trapping the python at the ladle's center.
The python thrashed left and right, trying to break out. It nearly slammed one phantom beast aside with its ferocity. Seeing this, Bai Lin swooped in diagonally, spewing freezing breath that slowed the python down. That phantom beast quickly adjusted, maintaining the formation's integrity.
The cold gradually intensified. With the crackling sound of ice crystals, a thick layer of ice formed wherever the breath passed. Just as the chilling cold reached Huangfu Jun's hand, a pair of leather gloves appeared on her hands, and her clothes transformed into a warm fur-collar leather jacket.
Huangfu Jun was momentarily at a loss whether to laugh or cry. Thank you, great dragon, for the gift of fur to save my dog's life. But it would be even better if you didn't fly me around in the sky. Honestly, though it was a bit gross, the adrenaline had kept her going. Now that she was getting used to the speed and thrill, she did feel a bit nauseous again.
"Huangfu Jun, you have to hold it in. If you really vomit on Captain Bai's head, your head will be twisted off," she thought, taking deep breaths to suppress the urge.
Meanwhile, Bai Lin and the seven half-demon phantom beasts began their next move.
Seeing the parts of the python in contact with the ground quickly freeze, Bai Lin opened his mouth and shot several ice blades straight at the python's vital spot—seven inches from its head.

Chapter 21: Huangfu Jun's Strength Is Terrifying (Part 1)
The giant python's body twisted violently, barely dodging the vital spot, but it couldn't avoid all the ice spikes. Wherever the spikes struck, they instantly froze the flesh and skin together. The tips melted upon contact with blood, then rapidly formed sharp needles that pierced out from the surface. Several ice spikes exploded, turning the originally clear ice into strawberry crystal-like burrs covering the python's body.
The intense pain made Hei Zhe writhe in agony. He forcefully tore his belly from the frozen ground, leaving both front and back bloody and raw, dyeing the ice crystals even more vivid.
Letting out a silent scream, Hei Zhe convulsed for a while, his struggling growing weaker and weaker, until he lay limp like a dead snake.
Even Huangfu Jun hissed in sympathy.
Jin Hu and the others slowly approached the half-dead Hei Zhe.
Bai Lin hovered in midair, still on guard.
Just as one supervisor neared the tail, weapon ready to stab, the seemingly dying Hei Zhe suddenly burst into action. His massive tail flung the supervisor away, and before the supervisor could regain balance, the tail swept fiercely again. The supervisor spat blood, his chest visibly caved in. Like a falling meteor, he crashed into two nearby colleagues, and all three slammed heavily into the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
In an instant, three of the seven required for the formation were lost. Jin Hu shouted for the remaining three supervisors to grab the injured and quickly retreat.
Bai Lin opened his mouth again, this time shooting ice spikes like a rain of pear blossoms at Hei Zhe. Wherever they hit, ice flowers bloomed.
With a scream of pain, the python, in desperation, spat flames from its mouth, causing Bai Lin to pause momentarily. Huangfu Jun, due to inertia, slid forward, tumbled across the smooth forehead, and rolled onto Bai Lin's snout.
Dazed, Huangfu Jun rubbed her sore nose and looked up at Bai Lin.
His ruby-like dragon eyes crossed to look at her on his nose bridge. His nostrils flared, emitting a puff of breath, then he gently flicked his head, tossing her back to the top of his head.
"Hold on tight, don't get distracted!"
"Oh, oh, okay!" She then jammed her feet firmly into the gaps between scales, grabbed a strand of silver hair and tied it around her waist, then took two more strands, twisted them into a rope, and wrapped it around her ankles. Finally, she gripped the dragon horns like pincers.
She noticed the dragon's brow furrow in pain, and its bright eyes glared at her in annoyance.
Not understanding why, Huangfu Jun said nothing, only returning a confused look.
It wasn't until Bai Lin flew back into the fray and she found herself standing upright between the two dragon horns like a poplar tree that she realized.
"Ah, this is like when her grandmother used to tie her hair into a tight ponytail, pulling the scalp taut for a slick look! He glared at me because of his hairline!" For once, Huangfu Jun genuinely empathized with his feelings and felt sincerely sorry.
During the battle, Bai Lin and the others attacked Hei Zhe from various angles. Hei Zhe wildly thrashed his tail, twisting his body, and spat flames at them.
Bai Lin vaguely felt that this demonic power seemed familiar. Thoughts flashed through his mind but left no trace, causing a momentary gap in his attack rhythm.
Hei Zhe seized that gap, launched himself into the air, and spat a torrent of flames at a supervisor. The supervisor instantly became a fireball and fell to the ground.
Bai Lin snapped back to reality, spraying a jet of water at the supervisor, extinguishing the flames. Though the fire was out, the supervisor had lost most of his combat ability.
The remaining supervisors quickly widened their distance and increased their attack frequency. Strikes hit the python from different angles. Enraged, the python's body flickered, and its originally single head split into nine. Each head spat water or fire, weaving into a huge net of water and fire that descended on them.
"It really is that!" Bai Lin seemed to have finally confirmed something.
"What? Nine heads? Captain Bai, is this Xiangliu?" Jin Hu, not far away, heard Bai Lin's voice.
"It's Jiuying," Bai Lin said solemnly.
"Jiuying?" Huangfu Jun quickly searched her memory.
Ah, Jiuying!
The legendary ancient divine beast.
According to legend, it was born at the dawn of time, in deep mountains and vast swamps, amid the intermingling of yin and yang primordial energies. It took the form of a nine-headed snake body, calling itself Jiuying. Each head represented one life.
